When Mike looked at his hand, he tipped off Ivey that if he had a flush, it was pretty insignificant. So repping a bigger flush or boat made sense.

The board got worse and worse for Mike's range and it was obvious he wasn't betting strong on the river, which Ivey would exploit a lot of the time. Ivey reps a full house. Ac would most likely directly bet river after c/c on turn. It would have been a great call, but probably also an objectively correct one.

Dude shouldn't have been playing poker if he didnt have the money to call a raise with K high flush. The pressure of losing another 30k lost him the hand. If he had been deep stacked enough to begin with he would've let it rip regardless if he looses or not bc that hand is good enough to win 99% of the time. Phil wasn't playing with cards- he was playing with fear and greed.

I would have raised and go til the end. That's the second best flush you can get. And if i lose to a Ace i could live with that.

Anyone else get the feeling that the commentator wants to blow Antonius? All he goes on about, every episode, is his looks, while talking non stop shite during every single hand.

“I’ve noticed they all take a long time with their decisions.” You gotta love the insightful commentary. Presumably if this guy was sat with half a million he’d be making decisions in seconds. My favourite bits though are the episodes where they explain the rules.

Everyone says that stuff to themselves when they lose pots like that. But the memory is so short when THEY are on the winning end of a suck out. I’ve seen Mike on a reel from WSOP where he cried like a baby when he lost but on that same reel two hands before he hit a miracle 7 to knock someone out in a pot that he was a 3-1 dog in. He says nothing about that, except that “it was meant to be it’s his time.”

42:45 Dwan is bluffing and Hanson is pushing all in. Kommentator:" He has read the situation right this time" No he didn't. He would have just called, if he knew Dwan was bluffing. His play was just bad.

The way Phil Ivey "talks trash" reminds me of my mother. Years ago, my son and I were visiting my parents during the NBA Finals. My parents, although in their late 70's at the time, had the NBA Ticket and would watch the Golden State Warriors no matter how late they played and were big fans of Steph Curry. My son has been a fan of LeBron James from the time he knew what a basketball was and we had all retired to the family room after a wonderful dinner. Kevin Durant was giving the entire Cavaliers team a lesson and their lead seemed to be growing by the minute. My mom brought my son a generous portion of cake and ice cream, handed it to him, and then asked, "Are you enjoying the game?" She then sat down next to him in her recliner, returned her gaze to the game with a wry smile on her face. It was kind and brutal at the same time.
