    Laying my pattern over the cup it looked a little big, would it be good to pull it tight, draw a line where they touch, and cut it there?

  • @allsewpetite

    Sure! Just don't do it too close otherwise when you stitch it it might be too tight.

    I use this but find it frustrating. Your preparation advice including doing the interfacing first and the bigger spatula will be a game changer. I was using an old credit card/pass for application and then interfacing afterwards which was challenging.

    Good video, but I feel like I am watching Part 2 and missing a Part 1 of the "How to add a lining zipper pocket to *any* project". You simply say "Take the piece with the zipper placement marking". However, you didn't show us how to calculate the dimensions of that box needed for the zipper opening according to whatever zipper length/size we have. Do I want the box to be the same size of the zipper or larger.. but by how much larger? I came here wanting to add a zipper pocket to a bag that does not have any pockets. And I haven't a clue as to how large do I want that zipper placement marking (the box) to be for the zipper I have. I was going to fold over the pocket instead of using 2 pieces though.

  • @allsewpetite
    @allsewpetiteАй бұрын

    The box needs to be the same width as the pocket opening - the visible part of the zipper, which will be different for different projects. The pocket bag needs to be wider than the opening by about 2-3cm, so you can stitch it on both sides. You can mark it about 1-2 cm down from the top edge of your pocket bag.

  • @bccabernet
    @bccabernetАй бұрын

    @@allsewpetite thank you so much for the clear and speedy message. I followed another video that said the box (not the bag) needed to be 1inch wider on each side of my zipper teeth and it was way too large. Thankfully I had another zipper to use. I've never made one before so I didn't know how to figure out the dimensions. :)
