What are the chances you can still recover the data but not boot into windows (or whatever you're using normally)? Isn't the only real use for this to bypass login screens to recover data if you lost a password?

I think that Jay and his channel should be applauded for all the work he has put into the very many tutorials concerning Fedora Workstation 40. But what about showing new users the basic everyday commands they should learn in order that they get the most out of this great operating system?

Hey Jay, I love your content bro, sorry, this is a bit unrelated, but while watching this video I was playing around and I ran HTOP and grepped for systemd on kali 2024. I slowed my system right down which I can't say I was surprised by. So I thought after a few seconds, I'll Control+C out of this. I did and all was well. I sort of accidentally knocked my mouse and noticed something odd. I noticed that the terminal started printing what I believe was my wireless mouse' current position in some kind of code (coordinates) that constantly changed depending on where I'd move the mouse. I'm a noob. I listen and watch and re-watch again and again to cement it in my head which is what I was doing (listening to you) while doing something else when I noticed this. Could just be my system. Maybe you can replicate it? Maybe you're already well aware of it? Maybe it's nothing? To me it was odd. I know to you it'll be nothing new but it was really interesting mate. Hey, thanks for the time you take and the energy you put in to educate and help others! We need more folks like you mate. Cheers

What is the smartest/safest way to mount a server files on different class c. Situation I have spun up a linode server, but not reachable for an employee in the country he is in.. but he can spin up a cloud instance in the country he is in, and from within this server he can shell into my linode instance. He is looking to permanently mount one of my directories.. I am think even secure nfs is not that secure.

An excellent tutorial, as usual! I rarely find tutorials on YT as detailed and well explained. Curious what you recommend for background jobs. I changed the owner of config.php to root like you did, but learned that the cron jobs must be executed by the same user that owns config.php. Is it safe to run cron.php as root if you need cron jobs for a larger instance, or is it better to keep config.php owned by www-data in that case? Thanks for everything!!

Hmmm. The cooler gets in the way of an NVMe drive and adapter board now supported by the Pi 5. The video (I realize the video is for the old case and Pi 4...) didn't show if the adapter could be tilted up on end or somehow repositioned. (The NVMe adapter boards for the Pi 5 have a real short ribbon cable), Any experience with the new Pi and new SunFounder case?

Hello sir, really thanks for the video, it's saved my life. I ran it on Ubuntu 24.04 and it works like a charm. But here is my question: I want to add high availability for my cluster with HAProxy. Do I need to use the same command for my other control planes, or do I need another command? thanks a lot have a nice day

Can you do a video on manually partitioning a disk with LVM during the Debian install? I included the only video I was able to find on KZread. It is 10 years old and goes way way too fast. I was able to get it done but it was a struggle to follow even at 0.25 speed Installing on a laptop with a small drive but still wanted to keep /, /home, /usr, and /var on separate partitions while having the ability to resize if it became necessary. The automatic partition settings in Debian didn't work for me. I know everyone says to just do one partition on small drives but I have found that gets you into more trouble when something fills up and you have no place to go. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mHphyLmIoZXfqKw.htmlsi=Z6L_R19jM0qK_RIV

I recommend also installing the "xorg-server" package, because it fixed the boot process getting stuck after decrypting the drive. For added context, I run an Nvidia GPU and got this error on June 5, 2024.

I have a question, since I'm a bit confused. Idk if I'm not paying attention, or if it's not clear in the video, but are you running the distros straight from the USB drive as in live boot? Or are you running the installer and went through the full installation process but didn't show it in the video? From the video it looks like you're running it live without having to install any distros. Also, what do you mean by saying that not every single distribution image is bootable?

Balls. I got through the part where you press Install on Archinstall and it murdered the former Windows OS and tried to assume its place, but threw down a whole slapfest of red error messages and now the PC is a brick. :/ I dunno why it's gone and done this. Very frustrating. I fear a critical step or two might have been left out of this tutorial if you're trying to replace Windows with Arch. It doesn't happen with Ubuntu, but I wanted this system to be leaner and dedicated to its sole purpose.
