See here (mostly)Temperate Under Water scenarios around Melbourne,. Australia. Our Ocean and bays temperature fluctuates between 10c to 20c . I am very interested in the Spider Crabs story and have 29 u tube clips on how they live their lives. The weedy sea dragon is another interest and I have 11+ u tube clips on how they live there lives. Included here is an observation of how sea dragons exchange their eggs, this is a first time this has been recorded in the wild. Squid ,cuttlefish ,Tasseled anglers, stingrays swell sharks and many more feature in other clips. Under the playlist called Seabirds feeding scenario you can watch our Little penguin and cormorants feed on baitfish. I have created my own playlist of my own videos in categories under some broad topics. This make it easy for those searching on scenarios seen in the Melbourne area. . Although it wasn't designed for it, that delicate shell does provide some considerable protection for its maker. Several times during this video we see fish trying to take a bite and clearly getting no more than a mouthful of hard shell: the fish swiftly retreats and as far as I can tell, doesn't come back. I've always been fascinated by both ammonites and Nautiluses since I first learned of them, and first encountered argonauts in Sir David Attenborough's Life on Earth when I was a child. There is just a couple of lines about them in the book, so getting to see video of them is a real treat.

You want to know what’s sad is this mamma octopus will do whatever it takes to defend her eggs and that includes not eating so she can be home defending her eggs. Because of that she will die from starvation to protect her babies and octopuses are very very smart animals. There are channels here on KZread where people have created a maze with areas of the maze with some type of puzzle for them to complete so they can move to the next obstacle which could be moving something blocking an entrance to another part of the tank or unscrewing a lid to move on. One guy did this and at the very end of the maze the octopus as treated to a feast of all you can eat shrimp buffet. He did this because he got the octopus as a pet but he wanted to release the octopus but was afraid to do so since he or she had been in captivity. When he saw the octopus win against the maze he kept his promise and released the octopus into their natural habitat!

This footage was taken sometime back...around the time the area was last dredged .Midway out to the 5 knot markers . I was using my boat so it was not a shore dive. Mass groups of North Pacific starfish will come and go...I sure they will turn up again. If not there some where close. I have not check that area for about 12 month.

Ok this this is what I found...so hopefully roughly what the original comment was ...What an amazing planet we live on! What a variety of life in the seas! Interestingly, the Bible reports that the first living creatures on earth were sea dwellers. It says, "And God said, 'Let the waters swarm with many living souls.'" (Genesis 1:20,21). Surprisingly, starfish can regenerate lost arms, which is useful if a starfish is injured by a predator. It can lose an arm, escape and grow a new arm later. The arms of starfish contain most of the vital organs. The stars in the sky and the stars in the sea glorify the one who lovingly created it all: “How numerous are your works, O Jehovah! Your wisdom is visible in everything. The earth is full of your creations” (Psalm 103:24).

Amazing footage! Those looks like large fish (do you know what kind?) the birds caught! The fish are struggling, but the hungry Cormorants manage to fully consume (alive?!) it all okay? It looked like the unlucky things go desperately kicking sliding down that long throat! I wonder, do the large fish stand any chance of escaping if eaten in that condition? Maybe they can turn around inside the elastic throat/stomach and has a chance of survival here.

  • @PangQuong

Yes the can swallow some rather big fish...which one would think was impossible until you see it. In this same Marina if the water is clear (and its seldom is) I have seen Australian salmon (our common name) but is not the traditional salmon ,dead on the bottom after these cormorant have been fishing the Botton for them. I guessing some do get away but are pretty much beat up by theses birds.
