I’ll been here 16 years in Canada hindi madali ang buhay dito. Kung ano ang profession mo sa pinas back to zero lahat.lalo na sa pupuntahan mong lugar mahal ang cost of living dyan. Hopefully makayanan mo good luck sa new journey!

I really don't get the OFW part where everybody seems to think that we are here para magpadala sa "family sa pinas" and/or "they can eat properly at home with new meals like buffet etc"... Not everyone is like that, as for me, we can eat those kinds of meals whether I'm here in Canada or in the Philippines. And hindi naman ako nagpapadala, sino ang pinapadalhan ko na wala naman? My immediate family can afford all those things. Siguro, the sacrifices especially when starting are the jobs or school. Dito bawal tamad, and swallow tlga ng pride. Di pwdeng ma arte dito, especially again, if bago pa.

So you're here as a student or what? Calgary is better when it comes to sales tax, I find here (Toronto) very expensive like 13% sales tax vs 5% in Calgary.

It will depend on sa outlook of sa buhay? Pero it will hard at first kasi adjustment period. Kung graduate kana and to look for jobs it will be challenging sa beginning pero once naka pasok kana then you can work your way to find your career. Ang babae hindi mahirap makakita ng trabaho dito more of pa ang mga lalaki. For me 40 yrs. In Canada it's been my life here and I'm happily retired from the bank and getting my pension no worries and just enjoy life now. You will be fine. God bless.

Kudos to you for being brave in moving to another country by yourself. I couldn’t imagine how you felt when you said your goodbyes. I moved to Toronto with my family many years ago. It wasn’t so bad because I was with my family. But being alone in a foreign country is really scary. Hope you have some relatives and friends to guide you in Toronto as it is a big city. Ayokong mag comment ng negative pero sa totoo lang kong well off ka na sa Pinas hwag ka ng mag move sa Canada.Marami akong na meet na umiiyak dahil nami miss ang mga yaya at katulong nila.Ang mga sanay lang sa hirap ang nakatatagal dito.Ako 30 years na sa Toronto pero happy at kontento.
