don't remember if I talked about it in the keybindings section or not, I go over my skill tree a lot but of the things to lock it's really just the unprotected pre-awakening skills if you want and ebuff in awake. Lightning of earth, Evasive Attack, Stretch Kick/Flurry of Kicks, Whiplash, maybe Trample if you use from hotbar and/or sometimes mess up and trample when you don't want to. Throat burn is optional, if you lock it you can get bolt wave into Allround Spinner cancel and probably other cancels into ARS from preawake, but probably not important. E-buff I lock because i'm worried about pressing Shift+E at the worst time but in general if your inputs are clean none of these are mandatory. It's all about minimizing potential disaster from messy unclean inputs and lazy fingers.

Accuracy/evasion is different now, we have T3 addons on every skill now, our 100% bsr gives enough crit that with T3 addon so accessible you can feel good blasting ult separate from party buff, and we got a buff to beast rampage range to the front (bit less behind us now)so no surprise it's still preferred core,although with the great hit stutter cleanse I think we lost a CC tick of the multihit bound sadly. Spinner got a range buff too not that it does dmg anyways, and both leaves/gust give +16 magic ap now. The above changes might differ, but other than the written tamer guide Nano did which I link to in the description of my guide, I haven't seen anyone post a more modern/thorough guide yet. It could exist and I definitely could improve my guide, especially give a less confusing grab combo section and alternative combos (scratch stiff into tremble stun, and explain Garuda into LBP into soaring stike cancel etc etc) but if you're just looking to get the update I still stand behind the guide and will probably edit the title to include OUTDATED once it truly is.

Gotta use mouse movement, click ctrl, hold the cursor in the direction you want to go from the character, make sure you either click ctrl again or use an a/w/s/d input so you don't unprotected run out of it by accident. o7

It's good - not easy, but it performs well in succession PvE in most zones, you can ride heilang for low APM easy mode grind where you dont need any DP basically, and she also performs well in PvP in both specs once you are good at using your defensive movement skills and your grab. There are specific spots awakening PvE is good, but usually they are either one-shot spots with high mob density where your doggo pulling skills (howling, roaring, void lightning) actually do damage and your doggo actuallydoes damage to help your clear rate, or at very very high end AP spots where single-target back attack burst damage is the most important, like Darkseekers in this video. Also darkseekers after redesign, I was able to push between 18k-21k depending on event frequency. She is not the best at anything except maybe 1v1 in PvP, but awakened Tamer is also at least "better than average" in most things and succession has the stuff like big AoE damage and PvE potential of that AoE that awakening lacks. Hope that helps a bit!

Super impressive. You make me want to try hard awa tamer. When i tried the class I was frustrated because i felt like a fast assassin but lacking in damage, succ felt like big damage but a lot of openings when you deal them. You obviously can leash out the damage on awa so I guess I had a pretty bad combo/didn't use the right skills.

Thanks! Definitely can recommend the class although as you noticed it can feel limiting if youre just trying to blast damage. The combo is a bit rigid for sure, basically without one of the magic dp debuffs from garuda/skybound stab or pole thrust and the -10dp from intim or shift+Q tiger, the damage just doesn't feel like it is worth how much you take for dealing it but those debuff skills are all unprotected so you have to pick and choose when you tag them outside of a combo although it is doable. You also have to use the hit accel tricks with soaring strike to fit extra damage into combos. To me it feels like my job is to fish for CC especially grab, tag ppl with slows or get them to waste their kit on my s, as soon as I start standing trades I'm disadvantaged. Tamer can take so many skills on her block and s that you win trades by just playing defensively a lot of times, them attacking into you feels better than chasing a lot of classes. But that grab, side ifram, skybound stab 1st hit only, cancel into soaring strike with shift+space, quickslot for soaring strike, if you get downsmash full moon, if not legendary beast dance tiger, shift+Q, Celestial Slam, beast rampage, flow intimidation, and finish with resonance or Cloud Stomping or bolt wave into dark gaoler, in aos it's usually gonna one combo. Should try succ one of these days but despite the damage I like awake movement too much lol.

Depends on gear, playstyle, PvP mode you wanna do obviously. But in general I like Kabua's artifacts in almost all situations, unless you really want to build glass cannon (Magic AP) or you really need the magic accuracy (Magic Accu) or you really want to use your 100% BSR a lot (BSR Regen). For Lightstone sets I like: - Uncapped offensive build, most aggressive rat/flanker lighstone set to go for is "All-Out-Attack" with +24ap 5% crit dmg, but losing the defense -25eva -15dr does hurt when you need to trade out damage on your block or in your SA skills to secure kills/catches. If you trust your decision making or you massively outgear/outskill people you can get a few more kills with this one, but it's generally considered *too* glass cannon even for a tamer where most of your damage mitigation comes from your s anyways. - Uncapped offensive build, most reasonable is "The Wild: Humans" or "Target Openings" and probably +24 human damage is better than 6% crit damage, +10ap, +16accu, +100stam. You probably don't need the accuracy of "Target Openings" because of +15% and the stomp combos you can do for a brief +30%, but if you do miss the occasional hit "Target Openings" is probably better. If you don't miss that often anyways on people you feel like you could have killed with a bit more accuracy, "The Wild: Humans" is probably better. - Uncapped defensive build, most reasonable is "Untouchable" since it gives you a metric fuck ton of defensive stats with +200hp, 33eva, 18dr, 3% special attack evasion. I can't imagine an argument for anything being better, and if you can kill other players without an offensive artifact set you might want to just run this anyways to have a bit more sustain while dealing damage in uncapped PvP. BiS uncapped for me is 2x Kabua, Untouchable, and a more defensive crystal build. I'm okay with not getting kills on hybrid/full evasion players, and we have enough DP shred and accuracy self-buffs to kill AP/DR targets most of the time. If I can live until Dark Gaoler or Skyreach come off cooldown, I can reset the fight a little bit, look for more opportunities, and possibly just gtfo if I'm fighting some cancer ass gauntlet class after I realize I need 4 combos and downsmash luck to kill them. I think as tamer you're wasting your time trying to kill tanktards, just let the succ sages and ranged classes burn them down and land a grab on them if they are too disruptive - my opinion, you should be focused on killing glass cannons and AP/DR players, or the couple hybrid evasion classes that you can still kill because of your accuracy buffs even running full AP accessories and not sacrificing AP for accuracy. For crystals, I like something like this: 1. 4x Hoom 2. Haetae Tear 3. 2x JIN Glorious Special Evasion 4. 2x Frozen Bitterness 5. 2x Corrupted 6. 2x Rebellious 7. 2x Visionary Crystal of Elkarr 8. 1x RBF Viper Of those, the ones I swap around a lot are (4), (6), (8). If I feel like I can't kill people, and nobody is really trying to kill me to the point I'm trying to live and get shit done with like 10% HP, then instead of ther bitterness crystals I would add JIN Vipers +20 accuracy if I am missing, the 2nd RBF Viper for more human damage, and maybe Ignore Grapple and Ignore Knockdown resist crystals if I feel like my combos/catches are getting resisted too much. I will also consider if fighting on terrain, adding the two Ascension crystals for jump height so I can get up and down. Likewise, I might decide screw it I don't need any HP, resist, accuracy for these shitters, and run 4x Macalod instead of the hooms. It depends, but the factors you are looking at basically come down to: 1. Can I get away with giving up defense? Does it actually help to have more AP/accuracy anyways in this situation or do I already have enough and it's overkill? 2. How am I dying? How am I failing to kill? Are they standing up because I'm missing, they're resisting, or I have to leave because my block/HP is too low to keep DPS on target? For capped, running the HP set "Steel Heart" is a safe bet, since that extra HP also makes your block stronger by the same amount and we rely on it so much. You'll find yourself living with a sliver of health more often running "Steel Heart", and on Tamer if you can just live you have a good chance at iframing your way to a recovery or even turning the tables. You can also look at running "Take Off!" especially if the terrain is mountainous and you're going to be on flex, doing cannon/anti-cannon shenanigans. Even just the effect jump height has on your Cloud Stomping and Skyreach for getting up and down terrain is a win, so if you feel like you'd rather be a bit squishier but have the chance to be more proactive in getting to cancerous cannon positions or out positioning enemies with jump tricks and a big skyreach/cloud stomping vertical, "Take Off!" can be good with the 2x Ascension crystals and Soaring Wings elixir in your elixir roto.

Beast rampage, soaring strike, Celestial Slam, the 100% bsr all-round spinner. Also, magic dp debuff with skybound stab (gotta cancel it with something after first hit so that the CC doesn't go out and ruin combo, just use the dig for -20magic dp debuff) or flash: pole thrust if you can. Use legendary beast dance: echo, white tiger (the weird af shift + q skill) for -10dp knockdown re-cc, or flow: intimidation -10dp float re-cc. Generally, you should have your +16 magic ap buff from a leafweave/gust. The other thing is the accuracy self-buff, when you do full moon or celestial slam, then beast rampage, you get 15% all accuracy buff before beast rampage comes out. Skip to the grab combo section in this video and you'll see a scuffed infographic that tries to lay out the options, but thenidea is to debuff them and then use soaring strike, reCC with white tiger or flow intim (sometimes spam both here in case one resists), use celestial slam into beast rampage for max DPS.

@legion7 exactly, the best you can do in large scale is usually to beast rampage core, fearful trembling shift+q from preawake, and scratch RMB from preawake especially after tree climb behind them for your protected catches - it usually works out best if you're skirmishing at the edges and sort of baiting people by /sa moving through the bigger fights along terrain features, because you can get the opportunities to use unprotected stuff for sure but need to generate that with movement. One thing that works okay in large scale is to get your accuracy buff before diving, and if you land a beast rampage bound you can do this: Beast Rampage, left flow intim come out but literally as it's connecting shift+space cancel, soaring strike from hotbar, full moon, cloud stomping. If you time the shift+space into Soaring Strike right its basically instant, this isn't really a combo more of a "get all my damage out NOW" thing and the couple frames of unprotected I rarely get punished for (flow intimidation). After a scratch stiffness catch, safest reCC is fearful trembling shift+q stun, then you can leafweave/gust, use skybound stab, shift +space, soaring strike, and go for recc with beast rampage if you need the safety or think about your unprotected shift+Q knockdown maybe after another to juke - you can often have success with leafweave/gust/shift+space just before or just after that knockdown but it is situational. Another thing to know is that after your grab, there is a small gap just before you to the side - you can actually cover that with F, for the dark gaoler frontal. I always forget to but that's one unforced error that happens all the time for me and I've been meaning to work on - grab, point camera at pressuring enemies, F, then and start combo.

Good spot, good burst mobility and z-axis mobility, lingering s for days and cancel anything anytime, decent combo damage decent AoE on a handful of skills compared to before like beast rampage, still have that cracked grab but don't have a fully protected kill combo you have to use unprotected stuff as a risk to min/max damage. Still have to skirmish on the edges in large scale and outshined offensively by a lot of classes, but she is an S+ tier 1v1 class for a reason and those same reasons make her extremely strong when played with proper positioning. Out of all the "it's good but in large scale it sucks" classes which is so so many at this point, it ranks pretty high up there as acceptable it just won't be getting stormtrooper easily like a ranged damage bot (archer/ranger) nor does it have the kind of "full wipe" engage/flank potential of a drak/valk/succ lahn etc. So it's a certain type of rat playstyle but the s and forward guards on our best DPS skills make it a lot less punishing to engage larger groups than on other rat classes. Succ is a better "big dmg" class in large scale than awake, but it doesn't have the same kind of survivability and tools for picking targets off in 1v1 although it is still really strong in similar ways in 1v1 and small scale.

you can use garuda (-20, better) or you can use flash/pole thrust (-15dp, easier cancel) for the magic DP debuff right after grab or any other 1st hard CC you get off a catch. You'll have extra time if it's a stun or a knockdown on 1st CC to do extra skills, but if it's grab you basically have time to do one of: 1. Grab, S+LMB, LMB (don't do stance shift, cancel after pole thrust goes out for -15 debuff only), shift+A for (+16 magic ap), Soaring Strike from hotbar - depending on your attack speed, and if Soaring Strike gets the downsmash, you might be able to fit a full moon here but safest is to just re-cc with Shift+Q knock for -10dp 2. Grab, maybe Gaoler with F-cancel if you want (I just forget to do this but it covers some of the gap after your grab before you ), Shift+A for (+16 magic ap), F for Garuda/Skybound Stab (-20 magic DP), Shift+Space before the 2nd attack goes out (you only want the dig, not the lift), hotbar Soaring Strike - if you did Shift+Space with the right timing Soaring Strike will come out way way faster and you will have time to do LBD tiger, then Shift+Q celestial slam beast rampage flow intim resonance to finish for the 1-combo The re-cc of White Tiger Shift+Q, or Flow: Intimidation is usually where you get another -10dp. I don't do it as much in this video but you'll see what I'm talking about in my newest AoS montage the season 3 one - I probably do garuda into soaring on half those catches or something crazy.

The most annoying part for me is always setting up the screen and all the keybinds.

Same, you can see what I do there on the screen, basically I have all 20 cooldown slots in a grid really close to my character so I have some chance of checking the cooldown at the right time. You'll see I have some stuff around my minimap, I figure I have to or should look there so I put "overflow" of additionl skills I want to see the cooldown of up there. On the bottom left and bottom right, are cooldowns I don't need to track but do need to hotkey - so I put them far out of the way as I can so I don't accidentally mouse move the skill out of it's slot (and still sometimes I do, wish they'd just let us lock the damn quickslots!). 18:50 in the video, you can see what buttons I have all the quickslots hotkeyed to, but that's a pretty specific setup for my 12-button mouse so I don't know how much it'll help. In general, I use a mouse with a lot of buttons and I bind all the quickslots to all those buttons, plus whatever is closest to WASD. While I rebind Z/X/V to quickslots instead of rage abosrb/transfer and emergency escape, you could save a couple more quickslots by using the Shift+Z, Shift+X inputs instead for reso/claw rabams. I'm starting to do that now since I need buttons for my taebeck belt buff and whale pots...

I watched a video where the Heuklang (dog) keeps endlessly chasing someone who used an emergency escape until they find the end of the opponent's emergency escape. It seems like they're using Void Lightning. Do you know how they do it?

Put him in command: attack mode, and make sure he's locked onto the player before they V which pretty much means you have used a skill with a "Heilang Effect" on that player. Can even do this at range with LBD, Beast Rampage, Allround Spinner, or command attack itself but also void lighthning, roaring, a lot of pre-awake skills that don't have protection and aren't great for this cause you should probalby lock them like whiplash/lightning of earth. People use diff skills to hunt the player when doggo is locked on, but that's the idea - it's pretty dumb and should be removed, but classes that can movement combo to an enemy coming out of V and kill them before they recover like DK, Maewha should also not be able to do that. It's one of the unique advantages of the class in AoS, but it works in open world NW/Siege too. Again, expect them to get around to removing it someday or fixing V recovery animation so that it doesn't matter as much if you track them down with the doggo.

Eva is fine if you're willing to run accessories and maybe offhand and stuff - but unless you're super committed to it and totally fine with not even being able to combo most Dr OR Eva players at full gear almost every tamer will recommend to focus on AP/DR build. As an evasion meme pest, Tamer isn't a bad choice but it's a lot harder to live through CC because you don't have much evasion from skills. Because we're so good at staying alive standing through s and positioning it always seems to me like DR and working on your reactive positioning and timing is the better play - then when you see opportunity for offense you can pounce. But with Eva you might not be able to get the kills as easily, so if it isn't for cc-bot playstyle with a dedicated team that understand how to play off your roll of getting the catches and not dying to burst, it is hard to recommend evasion for tamer.

wish I could, don't grind there myself but here's my darkseekers combo which is also a back attack spot, so maybe test this opener on the butcher or whoever the guy is you get all the back attacks on that I vaguely have heard about before: 1. Skyreach to them if you can, if not no big deal 2. Moonlight (addons, DPS), Skybound Stab (-20magic DP), Ascension (addons, DPS), Flow: Intimidation (-10dp) 3. LBDE: Azure Dragon (addons, +16 magic AP) 4. Allround Spinner, Flow: Soaring Strike, Flow: Full Moon At that point, you basically dumped everything that does good damage while fully buffed, and the dude fully debuffed. You can use the jolt stab/breath spike rabams now, or you can just ez mode spam F+D and you'll just skybound stab, stab, ascension, stab, stab on loop and that actually does OK dps. The point of that is "filler", because what does real DPS is allround spinner, soaring strike especially if you do any of the acceleration tricks, LBDE: Azure Dragon, moonlight, and flow: full moon. So try to look at the cooldown slots for those skills, and use them as they become available after your opener. Not easy to manage, but I'm just a PvP goon so I'm not the best at min/max for PvE tbh.

Now on the timestamp from 12:53 - 12:56, I noticed you started your Abs: Void Lightning far afar, while aiming at the opponent, when you engaged with Skyreach, Heuklang was already there following up with your attack from Void Lighting? Or is that his atk from your SkyReach? That was pretty sick to witness. Key moments and timing like these makes the difference in pvp matches lol! P.S. - I'm currently Succ lol.

YESSIR! The ranged void that *almost* never catches anyone lol. It's RNG but the very last hit of the animation will guarantee a chance at stiffness at least although almost never is someone still standing in the trap - but at very low probability, all the preceeding hits have a chance to stiffen and the very first hit more so than any. There is some weirdness in targeting behaviour, but basically last thing you've hit with a skill or if you are aiming crosshairs FPS style at the person when you cast void/roaring/surging tide AND you have him in Command: Attack mode already it'll drop the trap on their heads lol. I had high hopes after reworks but sadly it's not yet as effective as it might someday be, still when it lands it's awesome

It's amazing seeing you interact with everyone and you're always so giving and informative def appreciate you for what you continuously do bro. Love the content! I'm pretty new on Tamer, but my fav right now is Succ, specially for PVE, do you actually have a preference for PVE or PVP (Awake Or Succ). Succ just "feels" more fluid to me. But Awakening just feels like saucy, the leaps, and jumps are amazing. The dodges for Succ is where it shines in my op, but Awak's block and forward guard you really can't beat - I'd love to hear your take. Also, (you may have a video on this already, I've watched a good bit of yours) But I've been looking for more recent Succ jump trick videos that simplifies everything. Soaring videos has been my favorite for jump-trick and soaring arts its been my go to. Apologies for the winded comment, anyway brother stay blessed! And Keep doing what you're doing brother!

Really appreciate the daps for what I feel like is probably giving out TMI in essay form on simple asks a lot of the time, clearly my brain seems to be getting something out of infodumping out here but thankfully ppl seem to appreciate it more so than get annoyed at the 10 paragraph YT comment replies so I'm definitely grateful for that. Great time to be a Tamer main Succ or Awake for sure, PvE you definitely get rewarded for going succession overall since there's just so many spots where the extra AoE is crucial or at least better, and it seems to still outclear awakening even at spots like Darkseekers where it has slower pack to pack and the AoE diff actually doesn't matter because it's only 5 mobs. Personally I like being able to BJ/BJ cancel in succession especially after side evasion like you mention being a slick dodge to get to the back and instantly available anytime just bj/bj into things. Using the other Prime skills is definitely a good feel too, the absolutes just don't have the juice to justify in PvE even though there's some old school pre-awake grind combos that I would be thrilled to see buffed into relevance again like the pole thrust cancel into bolt/jolt/bolt especially now that we have Gaoler with good damage on it, and it would be so cool to throw the doggo at packs with ranged void and ranged roaring in attack mode but it's only worth at one-shot spots like blood wolves and sherekhan but I'm still coping that one day doggo control will be a PvE factor lol. Definitely agree with you that succ is smoother, Awake is a lot more delicate in both the skill rotation and the movement patterns to precise inputs and positioning, and mistakes or downtown from bad positioning/using CDs at the wrong moments or not getting even kill speed and having stragglers with a bit of HP you have to finish off it's pretty clear succ is still advantaged in PvE overall. Awake has got the FG for sure but you are dropping DPS if you ever Beast Rampage which is the only one you really keep in reserve and often you gotta spam Skybound Stab for the -20 magic DP and as filler damage, so you can't usually time it's 7s FG from the Core/BON skill we all take in PvE, which just leaves Allround Spinner and Flow: Soaring Strike and Dark Gaoler FG and all of those you gotta use for the DPS off cooldown if possible. It definitely feels easier to avoid damage on your HP bar but the price you usually have to pay in clear speed makes it feel like it's a wash. It's the fact that everything's a mess and hard to time out perfect and really delicate and needs constant focus that makes it more fun for me though - I have witch tagged for if I just want to chill but makes me feel alive to grind and PvP on awake tamer more so than succ I guess lol SOARING ARTS - man been a minute since I've been so focused on solare PvP but I still run my jump artifact set and jump crystals every NW or Siege I go to at the cost of 600hp or w/e the tradeoff is lol. I haven't seen an updated succ guide, but definitely there is new tech in the Soaring Arts discord (link is on that guide video I did about awakening) - best visualization of it is here whole intro is basically demonstrating how to infinitely scratch side cancel and JUST. here's some resources to get started, it's really important to be familiar with her mechanical tricks and cancels, get super comfy with movement and distances of your dashes, and then focus on how to get all your DP shreds applied before smoothly transitioning to your high PvE DPS skills. It's definitely not easy to get it all dialed in, and I wouldn't even say I'm very good at PvE since I mostly lifeskill for my silver and just grind when there is something like a new fallen god armor to go for, so I might never make a guide but here's some great resources from the Tamer community - 1. Good timing, steady buffs last 2 years half-way decent PvE finally and solare/guild vs guild... even the weird patch they had to revert with the SA on LBDE (so close to protected re-CC!!) they seem to have a way better handle on Tamer these days even if Heilang has a strange new name due to localization and still doesn't CC right lol

What skills do you have locked? Or did i miss the part where u talk about it?
don't remember if I talked about it in the keybindings section or not, I go over my skill tree a lot but of the things to lock it's really just the unprotected pre-awakening skills if you want and ebuff in awake. Lightning of earth, Evasive Attack, Stretch Kick/Flurry of Kicks, Whiplash, maybe Trample if you use from hotbar and/or sometimes mess up and trample when you don't want to. Throat burn is optional, if you lock it you can get bolt wave into Allround Spinner cancel and probably other cancels into ARS from preawake, but probably not important. E-buff I lock because i'm worried about pressing Shift+E at the worst time but in general if your inputs are clean none of these are mandatory. It's all about minimizing potential disaster from messy unclean inputs and lazy fingers.

Hey, been getting into tamer recently. is your tamer awk guide still relevant? Im veteran and dont know if the patches changes things
@Pepsipepi it's definitely still relevant. Accuracy/evasion is different now, we have T3 addons on every skill now, our 100% bsr gives enough crit that with T3 addon so accessible you can feel good blasting ult separate from party buff, and we got a buff to beast rampage range to the front (bit less behind us now)so no surprise it's still preferred core,although with the great hit stutter cleanse I think we lost a CC tick of the multihit bound sadly. Spinner got a range buff too not that it does dmg anyways, and both leaves/gust give +16 magic ap now. The above changes might differ, but other than the written tamer guide Nano did which I link to in the description of my guide, I haven't seen anyone post a more modern/thorough guide yet. It could exist and I definitely could improve my guide, especially give a less confusing grab combo section and alternative combos (scratch stiff into tremble stun, and explain Garuda into LBP into soaring stike cancel etc etc) but if you're just looking to get the update I still stand behind the guide and will probably edit the title to include OUTDATED once it truly is.

hey, is tamer a nice class to start the game, or do i have massive struggles with it
It's good - not easy, but it performs well in succession PvE in most zones, you can ride heilang for low APM easy mode grind where you dont need any DP basically, and she also performs well in PvP in both specs once you are good at using your defensive movement skills and your grab. There are specific spots awakening PvE is good, but usually they are either one-shot spots with high mob density where your doggo pulling skills (howling, roaring, void lightning) actually do damage and your doggo actuallydoes damage to help your clear rate, or at very very high end AP spots where single-target back attack burst damage is the most important, like Darkseekers in this video. Also darkseekers after redesign, I was able to push between 18k-21k depending on event frequency. She is not the best at anything except maybe 1v1 in PvP, but awakened Tamer is also at least "better than average" in most things and succession has the stuff like big AoE damage and PvE potential of that AoE that awakening lacks. Hope that helps a bit!

Super impressive. You make me want to try hard awa tamer. When i tried the class I was frustrated because i felt like a fast assassin but lacking in damage, succ felt like big damage but a lot of openings when you deal them. You obviously can leash out the damage on awa so I guess I had a pretty bad combo/didn't use the right skills.
Thanks! Definitely can recommend the class although as you noticed it can feel limiting if youre just trying to blast damage. The combo is a bit rigid for sure, basically without one of the magic dp debuffs from garuda/skybound stab or pole thrust and the -10dp from intim or shift+Q tiger, the damage just doesn't feel like it is worth how much you take for dealing it but those debuff skills are all unprotected so you have to pick and choose when you tag them outside of a combo although it is doable. You also have to use the hit accel tricks with soaring strike to fit extra damage into combos. To me it feels like my job is to fish for CC especially grab, tag ppl with slows or get them to waste their kit on my s, as soon as I start standing trades I'm disadvantaged. Tamer can take so many skills on her block and s that you win trades by just playing defensively a lot of times, them attacking into you feels better than chasing a lot of classes. But that grab, side ifram, skybound stab 1st hit only, cancel into soaring strike with shift+space, quickslot for soaring strike, if you get downsmash full moon, if not legendary beast dance tiger, shift+Q, Celestial Slam, beast rampage, flow intimidation, and finish with resonance or Cloud Stomping or bolt wave into dark gaoler, in aos it's usually gonna one combo. Should try succ one of these days but despite the damage I like awake movement too much lol.

Depends on gear, playstyle, PvP mode you wanna do obviously. But in general I like Kabua's artifacts in almost all situations, unless you really want to build glass cannon (Magic AP) or you really need the magic accuracy (Magic Accu) or you really want to use your 100% BSR a lot (BSR Regen). For Lightstone sets I like: - Uncapped offensive build, most aggressive rat/flanker lighstone set to go for is "All-Out-Attack" with +24ap 5% crit dmg, but losing the defense -25eva -15dr does hurt when you need to trade out damage on your block or in your SA skills to secure kills/catches. If you trust your decision making or you massively outgear/outskill people you can get a few more kills with this one, but it's generally considered *too* glass cannon even for a tamer where most of your damage mitigation comes from your s anyways. - Uncapped offensive build, most reasonable is "The Wild: Humans" or "Target Openings" and probably +24 human damage is better than 6% crit damage, +10ap, +16accu, +100stam. You probably don't need the accuracy of "Target Openings" because of +15% and the stomp combos you can do for a brief +30%, but if you do miss the occasional hit "Target Openings" is probably better. If you don't miss that often anyways on people you feel like you could have killed with a bit more accuracy, "The Wild: Humans" is probably better. - Uncapped defensive build, most reasonable is "Untouchable" since it gives you a metric fuck ton of defensive stats with +200hp, 33eva, 18dr, 3% special attack evasion. I can't imagine an argument for anything being better, and if you can kill other players without an offensive artifact set you might want to just run this anyways to have a bit more sustain while dealing damage in uncapped PvP. BiS uncapped for me is 2x Kabua, Untouchable, and a more defensive crystal build. I'm okay with not getting kills on hybrid/full evasion players, and we have enough DP shred and accuracy self-buffs to kill AP/DR targets most of the time. If I can live until Dark Gaoler or Skyreach come off cooldown, I can reset the fight a little bit, look for more opportunities, and possibly just gtfo if I'm fighting some cancer ass gauntlet class after I realize I need 4 combos and downsmash luck to kill them. I think as tamer you're wasting your time trying to kill tanktards, just let the succ sages and ranged classes burn them down and land a grab on them if they are too disruptive - my opinion, you should be focused on killing glass cannons and AP/DR players, or the couple hybrid evasion classes that you can still kill because of your accuracy buffs even running full AP accessories and not sacrificing AP for accuracy. For crystals, I like something like this: 1. 4x Hoom 2. Haetae Tear 3. 2x JIN Glorious Special Evasion 4. 2x Frozen Bitterness 5. 2x Corrupted 6. 2x Rebellious 7. 2x Visionary Crystal of Elkarr 8. 1x RBF Viper Of those, the ones I swap around a lot are (4), (6), (8). If I feel like I can't kill people, and nobody is really trying to kill me to the point I'm trying to live and get shit done with like 10% HP, then instead of ther bitterness crystals I would add JIN Vipers +20 accuracy if I am missing, the 2nd RBF Viper for more human damage, and maybe Ignore Grapple and Ignore Knockdown resist crystals if I feel like my combos/catches are getting resisted too much. I will also consider if fighting on terrain, adding the two Ascension crystals for jump height so I can get up and down. Likewise, I might decide screw it I don't need any HP, resist, accuracy for these shitters, and run 4x Macalod instead of the hooms. It depends, but the factors you are looking at basically come down to: 1. Can I get away with giving up defense? Does it actually help to have more AP/accuracy anyways in this situation or do I already have enough and it's overkill? 2. How am I dying? How am I failing to kill? Are they standing up because I'm missing, they're resisting, or I have to leave because my block/HP is too low to keep DPS on target? For capped, running the HP set "Steel Heart" is a safe bet, since that extra HP also makes your block stronger by the same amount and we rely on it so much. You'll find yourself living with a sliver of health more often running "Steel Heart", and on Tamer if you can just live you have a good chance at iframing your way to a recovery or even turning the tables. You can also look at running "Take Off!" especially if the terrain is mountainous and you're going to be on flex, doing cannon/anti-cannon shenanigans. Even just the effect jump height has on your Cloud Stomping and Skyreach for getting up and down terrain is a win, so if you feel like you'd rather be a bit squishier but have the chance to be more proactive in getting to cancerous cannon positions or out positioning enemies with jump tricks and a big skyreach/cloud stomping vertical, "Take Off!" can be good with the 2x Ascension crystals and Soaring Wings elixir in your elixir roto.
What are your hardest hitting skills as an Awaken Tamer?
Beast rampage, soaring strike, Celestial Slam, the 100% bsr all-round spinner. Also, magic dp debuff with skybound stab (gotta cancel it with something after first hit so that the CC doesn't go out and ruin combo, just use the dig for -20magic dp debuff) or flash: pole thrust if you can. Use legendary beast dance: echo, white tiger (the weird af shift + q skill) for -10dp knockdown re-cc, or flow: intimidation -10dp float re-cc. Generally, you should have your +16 magic ap buff from a leafweave/gust. The other thing is the accuracy self-buff, when you do full moon or celestial slam, then beast rampage, you get 15% all accuracy buff before beast rampage comes out. Skip to the grab combo section in this video and you'll see a scuffed infographic that tries to lay out the options, but thenidea is to debuff them and then use soaring strike, reCC with white tiger or flow intim (sometimes spam both here in case one resists), use celestial slam into beast rampage for max DPS.

@legion7 exactly, the best you can do in large scale is usually to beast rampage core, fearful trembling shift+q from preawake, and scratch RMB from preawake especially after tree climb behind them for your protected catches - it usually works out best if you're skirmishing at the edges and sort of baiting people by /sa moving through the bigger fights along terrain features, because you can get the opportunities to use unprotected stuff for sure but need to generate that with movement. One thing that works okay in large scale is to get your accuracy buff before diving, and if you land a beast rampage bound you can do this: Beast Rampage, left flow intim come out but literally as it's connecting shift+space cancel, soaring strike from hotbar, full moon, cloud stomping. If you time the shift+space into Soaring Strike right its basically instant, this isn't really a combo more of a "get all my damage out NOW" thing and the couple frames of unprotected I rarely get punished for (flow intimidation). After a scratch stiffness catch, safest reCC is fearful trembling shift+q stun, then you can leafweave/gust, use skybound stab, shift +space, soaring strike, and go for recc with beast rampage if you need the safety or think about your unprotected shift+Q knockdown maybe after another to juke - you can often have success with leafweave/gust/shift+space just before or just after that knockdown but it is situational. Another thing to know is that after your grab, there is a small gap just before you to the side - you can actually cover that with F, for the dark gaoler frontal. I always forget to but that's one unforced error that happens all the time for me and I've been meaning to work on - grab, point camera at pressuring enemies, F, then and start combo.

Tamer, how is the pvp situation right now?
Good spot, good burst mobility and z-axis mobility, lingering s for days and cancel anything anytime, decent combo damage decent AoE on a handful of skills compared to before like beast rampage, still have that cracked grab but don't have a fully protected kill combo you have to use unprotected stuff as a risk to min/max damage. Still have to skirmish on the edges in large scale and outshined offensively by a lot of classes, but she is an S+ tier 1v1 class for a reason and those same reasons make her extremely strong when played with proper positioning. Out of all the "it's good but in large scale it sucks" classes which is so so many at this point, it ranks pretty high up there as acceptable it just won't be getting stormtrooper easily like a ranged damage bot (archer/ranger) nor does it have the kind of "full wipe" engage/flank potential of a drak/valk/succ lahn etc. So it's a certain type of rat playstyle but the s and forward guards on our best DPS skills make it a lot less punishing to engage larger groups than on other rat classes. Succ is a better "big dmg" class in large scale than awake, but it doesn't have the same kind of survivability and tools for picking targets off in 1v1 although it is still really strong in similar ways in 1v1 and small scale.

what skills do you use to prebuff and debuff? i havent seeing you using "garuda" (hold F) for -20 dp debuff, sounds confusing to me her combo
you can use garuda (-20, better) or you can use flash/pole thrust (-15dp, easier cancel) for the magic DP debuff right after grab or any other 1st hard CC you get off a catch. You'll have extra time if it's a stun or a knockdown on 1st CC to do extra skills, but if it's grab you basically have time to do one of: 1. Grab, S+LMB, LMB (don't do stance shift, cancel after pole thrust goes out for -15 debuff only), shift+A for (+16 magic ap), Soaring Strike from hotbar - depending on your attack speed, and if Soaring Strike gets the downsmash, you might be able to fit a full moon here but safest is to just re-cc with Shift+Q knock for -10dp 2. Grab, maybe Gaoler with F-cancel if you want (I just forget to do this but it covers some of the gap after your grab before you ), Shift+A for (+16 magic ap), F for Garuda/Skybound Stab (-20 magic DP), Shift+Space before the 2nd attack goes out (you only want the dig, not the lift), hotbar Soaring Strike - if you did Shift+Space with the right timing Soaring Strike will come out way way faster and you will have time to do LBD tiger, then Shift+Q celestial slam beast rampage flow intim resonance to finish for the 1-combo The re-cc of White Tiger Shift+Q, or Flow: Intimidation is usually where you get another -10dp. I don't do it as much in this video but you'll see what I'm talking about in my newest AoS montage the season 3 one - I probably do garuda into soaring on half those catches or something crazy.
Thank you for all your content, this guide is gonna be my bible to learning pvp on the class. i wanted to ask if you have a safed overlay for the settings that u are using and all the hotkeys, and if yes , if you would kindly share it. The most annoying part for me is always setting up the screen and all the keybinds.
Same, you can see what I do there on the screen, basically I have all 20 cooldown slots in a grid really close to my character so I have some chance of checking the cooldown at the right time. You'll see I have some stuff around my minimap, I figure I have to or should look there so I put "overflow" of additionl skills I want to see the cooldown of up there. On the bottom left and bottom right, are cooldowns I don't need to track but do need to hotkey - so I put them far out of the way as I can so I don't accidentally mouse move the skill out of it's slot (and still sometimes I do, wish they'd just let us lock the damn quickslots!). 18:50 in the video, you can see what buttons I have all the quickslots hotkeyed to, but that's a pretty specific setup for my 12-button mouse so I don't know how much it'll help. In general, I use a mouse with a lot of buttons and I bind all the quickslots to all those buttons, plus whatever is closest to WASD. While I rebind Z/X/V to quickslots instead of rage abosrb/transfer and emergency escape, you could save a couple more quickslots by using the Shift+Z, Shift+X inputs instead for reso/claw rabams. I'm starting to do that now since I need buttons for my taebeck belt buff and whale pots...
I watched a video where the Heuklang (dog) keeps endlessly chasing someone who used an emergency escape until they find the end of the opponent's emergency escape. It seems like they're using Void Lightning. Do you know how they do it?
Put him in command: attack mode, and make sure he's locked onto the player before they V which pretty much means you have used a skill with a "Heilang Effect" on that player. Can even do this at range with LBD, Beast Rampage, Allround Spinner, or command attack itself but also void lighthning, roaring, a lot of pre-awake skills that don't have protection and aren't great for this cause you should probalby lock them like whiplash/lightning of earth. People use diff skills to hunt the player when doggo is locked on, but that's the idea - it's pretty dumb and should be removed, but classes that can movement combo to an enemy coming out of V and kill them before they recover like DK, Maewha should also not be able to do that. It's one of the unique advantages of the class in AoS, but it works in open world NW/Siege too. Again, expect them to get around to removing it someday or fixing V recovery animation so that it doesn't matter as much if you track them down with the doggo.

Eva is fine if you're willing to run accessories and maybe offhand and stuff - but unless you're super committed to it and totally fine with not even being able to combo most Dr OR Eva players at full gear almost every tamer will recommend to focus on AP/DR build. As an evasion meme pest, Tamer isn't a bad choice but it's a lot harder to live through CC because you don't have much evasion from skills. Because we're so good at staying alive standing through s and positioning it always seems to me like DR and working on your reactive positioning and timing is the better play - then when you see opportunity for offense you can pounce. But with Eva you might not be able to get the kills as easily, so if it isn't for cc-bot playstyle with a dedicated team that understand how to play off your roll of getting the catches and not dying to burst, it is hard to recommend evasion for tamer.

wish I could, don't grind there myself but here's my darkseekers combo which is also a back attack spot, so maybe test this opener on the butcher or whoever the guy is you get all the back attacks on that I vaguely have heard about before: 1. Skyreach to them if you can, if not no big deal 2. Moonlight (addons, DPS), Skybound Stab (-20magic DP), Ascension (addons, DPS), Flow: Intimidation (-10dp) 3. LBDE: Azure Dragon (addons, +16 magic AP) 4. Allround Spinner, Flow: Soaring Strike, Flow: Full Moon At that point, you basically dumped everything that does good damage while fully buffed, and the dude fully debuffed. You can use the jolt stab/breath spike rabams now, or you can just ez mode spam F+D and you'll just skybound stab, stab, ascension, stab, stab on loop and that actually does OK dps. The point of that is "filler", because what does real DPS is allround spinner, soaring strike especially if you do any of the acceleration tricks, LBDE: Azure Dragon, moonlight, and flow: full moon. So try to look at the cooldown slots for those skills, and use them as they become available after your opener. Not easy to manage, but I'm just a PvP goon so I'm not the best at min/max for PvE tbh.

Now on the timestamp from 12:53 - 12:56, I noticed you started your Abs: Void Lightning far afar, while aiming at the opponent, when you engaged with Skyreach, Heuklang was already there following up with your attack from Void Lighting? Or is that his atk from your SkyReach? That was pretty sick to witness. Key moments and timing like these makes the difference in pvp matches lol! P.S. - I'm currently Succ lol.
YESSIR! The ranged void that *almost* never catches anyone lol. It's RNG but the very last hit of the animation will guarantee a chance at stiffness at least although almost never is someone still standing in the trap - but at very low probability, all the preceeding hits have a chance to stiffen and the very first hit more so than any. There is some weirdness in targeting behaviour, but basically last thing you've hit with a skill or if you are aiming crosshairs FPS style at the person when you cast void/roaring/surging tide AND you have him in Command: Attack mode already it'll drop the trap on their heads lol. I had high hopes after reworks but sadly it's not yet as effective as it might someday be, still when it lands it's awesome

I'm pretty new on Tamer, but my fav right now is Succ, specially for PVE, do you actually have a preference for PVE or PVP (Awake Or Succ). Succ just "feels" more fluid to me. But Awakening just feels like saucy, the leaps, and jumps are amazing. The dodges for Succ is where it shines in my op, but Awak's block and forward guard you really can't beat - I'd love to hear your take. Also, (you may have a video on this already, I've watched a good bit of yours) But I've been looking for more recent Succ jump trick videos that simplifies everything. Really appreciate the daps for what I feel like is probably giving out TMI in essay form on simple asks a lot of the time, clearly my brain seems to be getting something out of infodumping out here but thankfully ppl seem to appreciate it more so than get annoyed at the 10 paragraph YT comment replies so I'm definitely grateful for that. Great time to be a Tamer main Succ or Awake for sure, PvE you definitely get rewarded for going succession overall since there's just so many spots where the extra AoE is crucial or at least better, and it seems to still outclear awakening even at spots like Darkseekers where it has slower pack to pack and the AoE diff actually doesn't matter because it's only 5 mobs. Personally I like being able to BJ/BJ cancel in succession especially after side evasion like you mention being a slick dodge to get to the back and instantly available anytime just bj/bj into things. Using the other Prime skills is definitely a good feel too, the absolutes just don't have the juice to justify in PvE even though there's some old school pre-awake grind combos that I would be thrilled to see buffed into relevance again like the pole thrust cancel into bolt/jolt/bolt especially now that we have Gaoler with good damage on it, and it would be so cool to throw the doggo at packs with ranged void and ranged roaring in attack mode but it's only worth at one-shot spots like blood wolves and sherekhan but I'm still coping that one day doggo control will be a PvE factor lol. Definitely agree with you that succ is smoother, Awake is a lot more delicate in both the skill rotation and the movement patterns to precise inputs and positioning, and mistakes or downtown from bad positioning/using CDs at the wrong moments or not getting even kill speed and having stragglers with a bit of HP you have to finish off it's pretty clear succ is still advantaged in PvE overall. Awake has got the FG for sure but you are dropping DPS if you ever Beast Rampage which is the only one you really keep in reserve and often you gotta spam Skybound Stab for the -20 magic DP and as filler damage, so you can't usually time it's 7s FG from the Core/BON skill we all take in PvE, which just leaves Allround Spinner and Flow: Soaring Strike and Dark Gaoler FG and all of those you gotta use for the DPS off cooldown if possible. It definitely feels easier to avoid damage on your HP bar but the price you usually have to pay in clear speed makes it feel like it's a wash. It's the fact that everything's a mess and hard to time out perfect and really delicate and needs constant focus that makes it more fun for me though - I have witch tagged for if I just want to chill but makes me feel alive to grind and PvP on awake tamer more so than succ I guess lol SOARING ARTS - man been a minute since I've been so focused on solare PvP but I still run my jump artifact set and jump crystals every NW or Siege I go to at the cost of 600hp or w/e the tradeoff is lol. I haven't seen an updated succ guide, but definitely there is new tech in the Soaring Arts discord (link is on that guide video I did about awakening) - best visualization of it is here whole intro is basically demonstrating how to infinitely scratch side cancel and JUST. here's some resources to get started, it's really important to be familiar with her mechanical tricks and cancels, get super comfy with movement and distances of your dashes, and then focus on how to get all your DP shreds applied before smoothly transitioning to your high PvE DPS skills. It's definitely not easy to get it all dialed in, and I wouldn't even say I'm very good at PvE since I mostly lifeskill for my silver and just grind when there is something like a new fallen god armor to go for, so I might never make a guide but here's some great resources from the Tamer community - 1. Good timing, steady buffs last 2 years half-way decent PvE finally and solare/guild vs guild... even the weird patch they had to revert with the SA on LBDE (so close to protected re-CC!!) they seem to have a way better handle on Tamer these days even if Heilang has a strange new name due to localization and still doesn't CC right lol
