Growing up and living in Mackay, QLD for the last 35 years has been bloody good to me. I've been lucky enough to have been brought up on and around the water since a very young age and it shows in my addiction to fishing.
Fishing to me, it's my happy place, something I can do to get away and switch off from the rest of the world. Having grown up with A.D.D I am known to overthink and over analyse all types of fishing scenarios and I won't rest until I feel I've learnt something new.
I like to experiment using all the latest and greatest tackle and techniques to fool our local FNQ species, I've been sponsored and have worked in the industry for almost 10 years, have extensive product knowledge and evolve my style and techniques to adapt to technology as it advances. Hopefully this rubs off to help everyone watching.. I love all types of lure fishing and specialise in a range of techniques from jerk baiting barra, slow pitch jigging, topwater reef flats through to freshwater.

Clearly too much run? On the creek sessions? I’m gathering they were mad big tides too? Two episodes in, and I hoping the trip was worth the money, cause it seemed great trip to go but as a fisherman I would not recommend? And change of boat driver? He was stuffed for the yellow tail? make the most of! Hats off to you for doing 20 million casts? 🐟
I wouldn’t say too much run, when I fished it 2019 it ran just as hard and the fish were chewing their heads off most days.. The tides here mostly have less than a meter of run, that is all freshwater running right down into the ocean. The water looks nice and clean but compared to what it’s usually like it’s far from it, those out of season afternoon rains had stirred it up! Otto the guide is a good guide, we had him last trip and I had the best fishing of my life in these exact systems… At the end of the day there’s 2 things you can’t control, the weather and the fishing, just like anywhere, when it’s tough you just gotta keep casting!

So good bro i been dragging the 4.35 wider and wider went 90k's off the other day was so sick fishing the flats for the first time. with that first trout it had black spots on it the other day i got one and the meat was a bit suss ever had that. ?
Yeah nice!! The only dicey ones I find are the ones with ink sacks in the meat which show as lumps but I just cut them out and the rest of the meat is fine..

Hey mate after having the 233 for awhile now wats your thoughts on it compared to the 19?
Very similar ride and characteristics, both behaved really well in a following sea, both ride best at 30 knots or more, the 233 being so much bigger is a much smoother ride but it’s not a nimble as the 19 as you could imagine..

Another great vid are Black Bream like that a tropical species of bream different species down south....caught a Black Bream in the Barron River on a trip Cairns Keep up the amazing fishing vids for us down here in the outh that's dream fishing mate.
Yeah they’re their own species of northern bream called pikey bream. We get a lot in the creeks up here! Super aggressive and fun to catch when nothing else is happening
