The cotter pin is in case the rear seal on the engine leaks,the oil will drip out instead of pooling up causing the clutch to slip.

I plan to do the same with a 20HP V-Twin. It's always hard to tell in videos, would you say it's as quiet as a regular outboard with the exhaust in the water? I plan to route mine into the water as well. Also, did you need to change your prop to make up for the lower RPM vs a 2stroke? Thanks.
@themightykylewayne Жыл бұрын
It's about as loud as a older 2 stroke outboard and no I haven't changed the prop it'll do 18 mph but it's a little fast to at idle... been thinking about putting some kind of clutch on it or hooking the governor back up..I don't like how it slams into gear but if i idle it down to low it dies.. maybe one of those electro magnetic clutches some mowers use to engage the blades I think I got one on a old cub cadet or a centrifugal one..may be something you can study on while building yours and thanks for the view and comment

I’m not sure polluting the water with burnt exhaust petrol fumes is a smart idea , you might not have to catch the fish , they just might float to the top dead anyway in the end. Fish need originated water not polluted water , definitely not a fan of your muffler system , I’d change that.
@themightykylewayne Жыл бұрын
Thanks I appreciate your view and comment....I don't think it puts out near as much pollution as the original 2 stroke did putting gas and oil in the water but two wrongs don't make a right 😁
