2019 Ford Focus had the indicator on the trailing edge of the pad which seemed sensible to me as you don’t want the indicator being wedged between pad and disc

You Would Install It On The Suction Line Going To The Pump From The Reservoir "OR" The Line Returning From The R&P To The Reservoir? 🤔 Thinking It Thru Wisely: If You Have Gunk & Debris In The Reservoir Why Would You Put It On The Return Line Coming From The Rack & Pinion To The Reservoir Allowing The Gunk & Debris In To The Pump & Rack & Pinion. "NO" This Is Why You Are Installing A Filter To Prevent Gunk & Debris From Entering The System. So Installing It On The Suction Line Going From The Reservoir To The Pump Would Be The Correct Method Of Operation.

False! If the part you replaced is directly the issue and you replaced the part then cleared the code chances are very slim that the same exact code will come back so yes clear the code after the part is replaced

So the leading edge is the edge that the rotor meets first as the car is rolling forward. Basically if your caliper is mounted on the rear of the axle the leading edge will be on the bottom however, if your caliper is mounted on the front of the axle the leading edge will be on top.

I believe that you are wrong about PASSlock. The system is in the lock, not the key. So a copied key of any kind will work as far as I am aware. The system is easy to bypass if you wait long enough, even if you replace a component. But a copied key works instantly. Passlock prevents your knife/screwdriver attack, but most other attacks are just a matter of waiting the 10 to 30 minutes for the relearn, no programming required.

Don’t worry fellas I figured it out since he gave a horrible explanation with no visuals to show…so you want the squealer (metal clip thing) on the opposite side of where your caliper pushes, for my car the silver clip goes towards the bottom. Hope this helped more than the video.

Thank you Andrew. I couldn't remember if the Squealer ( I always called them the wear indicator ) went on the leading edge of the trailing edge of the pad. When you have a 10 yr old vehicle, it's had a few brake jobs in its life. So, yes, the one I removed was on the leading edge and on the piston side of the caliper. ( or inward side ) After reading some of the negative comments, I found myself scratching my head in disbelief. What part of inward and leading edge don't these ppl understand ! Most of them probably can't tell time on an analog clock either, therefore they don't know Clock Wise (CW) from Counter Clock Wise (CCW). Or the difference between a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. 😂 Thanks again, 👍👍

I have had a 2002 Ford F-250 Super Duty used that i put over 100,000 miles without adding grease to any of its ball joints or tie rod ends. But I did change those whole parts around that many miles that i put into it. I will check to see how much it will last if i just inspect it and add a little when it looks necessary.

Ok, manufactures say if you open a bottle of brake fluid and use some, put the cap back on tightly, it should be discarded after one year? So if I have a 8oz bottle brake fluid and I use 1oz, how much moisture in in that new volume of air that's now taking up the space of that 1oz of missing brake fluid? I haven't done the math but I would gander somewhere in the hundredths of a percent, maybe a thousands of a percent of moisture? Ok so now we take the cap off the master cylinder to add a little brake fluid. The 'Full' line is never at the top by the cap. You could probably get another 1-3 oz in there depending on the size of your mater cylinder, much more air then was introduced to our 8oz can of brake fluid we opened. We put the cap back on the master cylinder and write the date down and throw out the fluid in the brake system after one year as we would do with our used 8oz bottle of brake fluid? And you said that the master cylinder cap allows a small amount of air in to make up for the fluid level going down as the pads/shoes get worn down. So fresh moist are is constantly coming into the master cylinder reservoir through the cap? Sound worse then an 8oz bottle of brake fluid with 1oz poured out and the cap put tightly back on.

Manufacturers recommend changing the brake fluid, in vehicles, every 2 years. So doing the math, if you have a opened bottle of brake fluid that is exactly a year old and use it to do a brake fluid change/flush on your vehicle that fluid will ideally be at most 3 years old (since initially exposed to air) before it is discarded.
