Never use any kind of oil on leather that is made to hold a shape. Leather sheats, holsters and boots, will be too lose and sloppy over time. Use a type of paste, the best there is for this job is Renapur. I promise i know what i talk about, ask a leather worker who makes these type products. I make them too.And never use more heat than your own body temp 37celsius. Then you ruin the leather.A holster and belt like this is not meant too be soft and sloppy, you clearly dont know what you are doing and just because you have done it wrong for years, dont mean you are doing it right.

Check into VihtaVuori powder. They have an N105 powder recipe [found in their 100 Anniversary 2020 reloading guide, as well as in their 4th edition reloading manual] that spits the 250 grain Hornady XTP bullet between 971 to 1129 fps. Reduce the load a little and you can still bust 1000 fps easily. (Starting 14.1/Max 15.0). For some reason or another the load was listed on their website through out 2023, but was removed in 2024. Yet still remains in the printed material mentioned above.

I bought this rig from Cabelas about 15 years ago. While it is very well made by Triple K, it is the most impractical way to carry that I can ever imagine. You can't sit or squat down by the fire comfortably, or drive a vehicel while wearing this thing. It is strictly for standing at the bar in a saloon - or riding a horse - which we all do every day. I quickly learned that the most practical carry holster for a large revolver is either some type of cross draw with a "normal" (Bianchi makes verygood ones) gun belt - or, any type of belt carry holster that has a drop loop with a swivel at the hip joint for easy sitting or anything else in camp. Chest or side of body carry is good, too, if the gun is a short barrel model in the latter case. That's why the vast majority of original carry methods did not use this type of gunslinger rig. Most people were too practical - not tactical.

Maybe you've figured this out by now, but the jam nut is to be installed on the top of the handle/cam assembly, not the bottom. Look at the picture on the box, it's a dead giveaway. That's how I installed mine, and it hasn't moved since. I'm sure Lyman prolly told you the same thing! 😂

You prolly gotta zero for each load and corresponding turret. The bullet weight is part of it. The unaddressed part of this is hypervelocity, high velocity, standard, or subsonic. I am interested in this scope if it works for standard velocity or subsonic.
