I bought mine about 5 years ago and rode it occasionally on a spare bike. It is a great upgrade for a bike frame that is smaller than you'd need. I use it on cheap hardtail and I'd recomend it to anyone who'd like a plushy ride.

Everyone seems to have issues with the electric start on these bikes. My electric start fires every time. Key on. Red button up. Press back button start and she fires. If it is cold pull the cold start button out on the carb, and after idling for a while push it back in. When the bike is cold you have to put it in neutral for the electric start to work. Holding the clutch in wont work as the bike has to build compression. If you pull the clutch in and try push the bike when cold you will see what I mean. I never have a problem with the electric start. I never kick start my bike.

Yes, these Maxi scooters are vastly under rated. I have both a GL1800A Goldwing and a Suzuki Bergman 650 and have now decided to sell the Wing. The scooters are loads of fun and easier for an older guy like me to deal with (80 yrs old). The Silverwing looks like a good alternative in this market. Too bad both companies stopped making them

Hi there. I own a 2022 Top Fuel. Best all round dually I've owned. The factory low setting is better for trail riding and high is more friendly for XC. (Which is opposite to the assumption in your video.) By switching from low to high you raise the rear of the bike approx 7mm which brings the BB up 5mm and increases the head tube angle by 0.4deg, among other small downstream geometric effects.. The slightly steeper head angle will give you more responsive steering and the slightly more forward stance of the bike promotes improved climbing, both better for tight XC trail use. The fact you didn't notice any difference suggests what I thought all along. The differences between the two settings are so marginal most people won't notice anyway. Except maybe the higher BB which will reduce crank strikes. You live on some nice trails. Where is that?

You should have a closer look, as there are fake ones out there. A normal version of this holds up over years with really hard abuse and thousands of miles, even when you’re a very heavy guy. I own two of them on two bikes. Non of them faild, got loose or anything. You just have to clean and grease it.

i fall in between sizes for this bike's size chart. Correct height for ML but an inch shorter in inseam than recommended. Correct inseam for Medium, but in inch or 2 too tall than recommended. Which do you think you would prefer in that case? I have been riding a Medium Trek Remedy for a few years (with 27.5 wheels) and it feels like a good size but I think i can go slightly larger. Maybe the 29's will feel bigger and the frame should stay closer to what i'm used to?

One of them was a specialized, crossroads elite, it was barely ridden and about eight years old I would guess. After two days and over two hours of riding it, I like everything that you point out. It’s definitely a keeper.

Ya, it's limited on power until you hit 25. If you go full throttle from a dead stop, there will be no wheelspin and you can actually hear and feel when more power comes on after 25 mph. They are great bikes. It's a shame honda got out of the large displacement scooters for the USA market.

Excellent video, probably the best I've seen on the Silverwing. I purchased a slightly used 2006 model in 2008 because my doctor misdiagnosed my lyme disease in 2007 and had me convinced I was going to suffer from arthritis the rest of my life. I could not throw my leg over the seat of my current bike during that period and had lost strength in my grip. The Silverwing was a great bike to allow me to keep riding and I needed that at the time. In late 2009 I finally got properly diagnosed and recovered well. I bought a nice used Goldwing in 2010 and did the Traxxion Suspension and I love it. However, I could not part with the Silverwing. It was just too practical and just too much fun in town, and as you mentioned, longer rides which would happen a lot because the bike is more than capable, and you just want to keep going and get lost on it sometimes. I almost put it up for sale this spring because I will be moving from Massachusetts to Florida, and I need to downsize and get rid of some things. But I realize Florida traffic is not for the weak, and it may not be practical of me to use the Goldwing for around town riding. Your video helped put an end to my thoughts of selling. It's a much safer and practical bike for my situation. I'm feeling it would actually be stupid of me to sell it now so I''ll be going to Florida with two bikes! Thanks!

They're a great bike in almost every respect, except for the mpg, and the dash which is now looking rather dated. I nearly bought one but eventually decided on the T-Max 500, which was also a great scoot. I've now got the Burgman 400 which has great economy, storage etc. but doesn''t have the power or smoothness of the S Wing or TMax, but it's a compromise and a great scoot in it's own right, being simple and easy to work on, and utterly reliable. I don't call the police anymore because they are useless as teats on a boar hog when it comes to loose dogs.
