How is Encarnación 30 to 40 minutes from Asunción? Flying? Driving a vehicle it would take you more like 5+ hours to get from one to the other. Not a big deal, but before people think they have high-speed rail and super infrastructure there

Thank you for this video that attempts to bring a more nuanced view to this topic. You’re right, renouncing citizenship (especially to a country you were born in) shouldn’t be taken lightly. I’m not rich by any means, so I can’t afford to get multiple passports. I’m a dual citizen of the United States (birth) and Jamaica (by descent). While the JA passport isn’t the worst, you still need a visa to access the Western world (Canada, Australia, UK, EU.) on a JA passport. I can’t afford to give up my U.S passport right now, not if I want to travel freely. I’m not in the tax bracket that I’d have to worry about Uncle Sam coming for my money if I decided to move to Jamaica or elsewhere. For more reasons than one it’s just not practical for me. The U.S has issues, none of which will be solved overnight. But seeing people pour over our border (and not of all them are poor) for a chance to get what others want to throw away makes me think twice. The United States is huge. 48 mainland states plus its territories (which includes Caribbean islands) and there’s so much of it I’ve never visited or lived in. I attended college in Virginia, but for the most part I’ve been confined to New York my whole life. I like having options, and I try not to make choices because of hype. I know my personal situation, and for the time being I’m happy to just be a dual citizen. Most of these videos encouraging renunciation are tailored towards a specific audience who have assets they want to protect. It’s not for the average guy like me. Anyways, if you read all this, all the best! Cool runnings.

@@curiouzzi Yes, it's true. But I have not heard of the cases of revocation of passport because of the second nationality. You spent your whole life benefiting from what other people's taxes gave you, and got to where you are in life in part thanks to them - and the instant it came time to give back a little, you ran off like a cowardly miser as if you'd die if you had to give some back. What a sorry excuse for a "man".
