Women's climbing competitions are a little less fun to watch since Noguchi Akiyo retired from competing, she has such an amazing climbing style.

    池大さん懸垂の時毎回腕伸ばしきってから上げてて凄い。 俺だけかもしれないけど、伸ばしきってから上げると何倍もきついから。

Damn, that's so impressive. He's so good at remembering routes and his spatial memory is amazing. Very great skill for a competition climber. I was thinking, on that last boulder, what if the Boulder was just the pink volumes and the last two holds. Very hard, but maybe possible.

Re-watching this before the Paris Olympics and after watching 2024 IFSC world cup Innsbruck in person. I talked to Ai chan and took a picture with her when I saw her observing lead routes in the crowds. It was after the bouldering semi, where Ai struggled to reach the W1 jump start. I was initially feeling that the semi W1 could affect her mental game (for any athletes really if they had the same experience), but then I felt Ai's assertiveness during my brief interaction with her, which made me super happy (Yes don't let these things define you!). Just want to say that Ai is one of the best climbers in the world, and from this video you can just tell her motivation to climb is so pure. Believe in yourself and your hard work will show in comps! Believe in your love for climbing and keep getting the tops! Gold in Paris or not, Ai chan is still Ai chan, with such a pure spirit to climb! We love seeing you enjoy every moment on the wall and express yourself to the fullest! Also want to say, Akiyo is such a legend with such a big heart. I love the way she empowers Ai chan. Respect.

Was that a crack on M1 on semifinals? I love cracks, and I think they are obligatory for every climber/ boulderer to know how to hand, finger, fist jam! I thought after Meiringen '19 everyone would dail in the technique! While comp style is different and equally exciting as outdoor bouldering, it's important (imo) to have the same knowledge of techniques! Please take this criticism from someone who always cheers for you! Gambare! P.s. you crash it this year! Amazing performance! 🤟

First you get jealous that you don't have these kind of boulders at your gym and then you get happy because you could never send any of these anyways.
