Great video, through the heart of a place I know well. By the way, Reading is not a city (having lost the city status competition three times). It is, however, the largest town in Britain that is not a city.

My sister was always talking about hiring a canal barge and us two going 'wandering' on the waterways. Thank goodness we're past those silly moments now. I've been on three organised barge trips and and have many photos of the outings. I'll keep my feet firmly on terra firma now thank you very much. Lovely to watch though. Looking forward to seeing you again sometime in West Yorkshire. xx

This is so lovely..My first Mikron show was the Fish &Chips , and kept seeing James in subsequent years. Could say he always left a mark! I saw In At the Deep End in the Napton downpour when the lights failed. I remember the cast running into the ‘bar tent’ and singing the closing song.

This is a great memoir of the times you have had. Seeing this reminded me of “In at the Deep End” and that I missed it unfortunately due to work commitments or something which was a shame as I’m a big supporter of the work of the RNLI. I’m now going to dig out the trailer for it now if it is on KZread and kind of get the vibe to what I missed. By the way, I’m looking forward to seeing you guys again in action once again once this upside down time that we are all going through has passed by.

What an interview!! Thank you so much to Alistair and Jo, and especially to Mike, for taking the trouble to record so many significant details and memories about Mikron's journey. I first attended 'Still Carrying' in 1984 and I can still sing the words, 'Still carrying, still carrying, still carrying on....all the boats are leaving now but the Tyseley still goes on'. My lifelong interest in canals, their history, music, people and politics has been all the more enriched by Mikron. May Mikron's impact and vibrant life live on for many more years. Thank you!

Made an impact?? We watched you in 1983 in Still Carrying and whenever we’re out on a boat I sing to my wife...🎵 Sailing by with the wind in your eye my young girl beside me the sun in the sky...🎵 We’ve still got the program and think you made a huge impact. You even trained up my boyhood friend Mark Williams who not a totally bad actor...lol
