Welcome to The Shack. Here’s a channel about off-grid cabin living and hunting. My slice of paradise is not connected to any public utility services such as electricity, water, or sewage systems. Instead, it relies on alternative sources of energy and resources, such as solar panels, generators, rainwater and harvesting.
This allows me to be more self-sufficienct and independent, but also requires additional planning, maintenance and hard work.
My off-grid cabin is located in the remote wilderness. The Shack can be used for a variety of purposes such as vacation home, hunting lodge, or permanent residence.
Please join my friends and I, on our journeys at The Shack. Enjoy!!!

Why did you need more than the the flow of the original spring? That looked like just over 1 gal/min which is 1,440 in a 24 hour period. That would be more than enough for 2-3 household(EPA est. 138-400gal/day for a typical family of 4) would be able to use that much water. That is not the proper way to develop a spring. Rule 1: do not disrupt the spring, Rule 2 do not obstruct the out flow. If either of these are not followed the outlet of the spring can move and seep from another location. 5gal/min, why do you need 7,200 gallon of water per day?
I'm not understanding what the switch does? Turn the pilot off and on?
Yes, along with activates the water pump. Cheers
Yeah they're not great with rust unless it's really loose. I just picked up this model on sale for $68 so can't wait to upgrade from my plastic harbor freight one.
Great purchase. Been there done that. Enjoy!
Pretty cool setup, I watched your earlier video when you set in the second line and noticed it pulsating. I wonder if you can add a "T" fitting at the top of the source to allow air in ? Kinda like poking a whole in a gallon jug and the flow is faster and it doesn't pulse. A spring house at the bottom would be pretty cool!
Great ideas! Thank you
Great stuff man. How would you move the spring water UPHILL if the spring was at a lower level to your property?
I would put a small tank so the water can be filtered through the tank and you could have a bit of better pressure
It’s part of a piano!
I agree! Thanks for watching.
I watch many similar videos. You sir have a great voice for this. Good luck to you.
Much appreciated!! Thanks for watching.
it's a dog 🐕
That’s what I’m thinking too. Thanks for watching!!!
Placed my order on the 6th receive confirmation number. A week later receive an email stating they are out of stock and won't know when they will have a unit available for 5 weeks. So my only option are to cancel my order or wait for 5 weeks for news when they will be available. Even right now on this website it shows they have units available for sale and have a delivery date for a week and half. Very disappointed and I will be telling everyone to avoid this company. I put a one star review on their website and It never registered my review it appears they only put 5 and 4 stars on their website. Be careful with this company.
I’m very sorry to hear that about this fine company. You should contact @campluxoffical Did you place your order on Amazon??
The pulsing water at the end is likely due to air that is in the hose. I bet overtime that disappears once the temperature increases, and that hose flattens out. That is a nice flow. I agree with others… Whenever you can save up enough money, buy as manytwo or $3000 water tanks and just keep filling them up all year. Just amazing.
Will do my friend. Thanks for watching!
Great job and very simple system. I love it. I have Landon Kentucky and I found a little seep in two areas and so glad I found this video.
Glad you found it as well. Enjoy your treasure!!!
It looks like you have plenty of room inside; why not use an rv/boat fresh water tank or bring your water barrel & battery inside?
@lcutmetal The extra space is nice for a dry/ changing area. Also in the winter I put a heater in there. Thanks for watching👍🏼
@@stabski33 What kind of heater do you use- diesel? How do you keep your water supply from freezing outside?
@@Icutmetal I use a tower kerosene heater. For water I have an active spring that produces water year round. I carry the water to the shower and fill the tank for my daily usage.
WHAT THE F**** Is going on here??? 😂 What kind of footings are those?? Wouldn’t last a week here in England with that setup, I bet it’s not level after this time or standing?! 😂🤣
Works great and it’s still level. My grounds are extremely rocky which in turn creates a great bldg base. Thanks for watching!!
The voice song along with the water flowing and singing amidst the frozen landscape is SO Winter Wonderland time !!! Thanks
Thank you very much!!! Merry Christmas
Ooo wonderful ❤
Yes indeed
That sound at 0630 was a Dog barking or it might have been Sasquatch pretending to be a Dog! 🤣
Great opening video Beautiful
Thank you very much!!!
Mate, from the middle of the dry here, looks paradise. Also, Love your style.
Thank you very much!!
We hung a buck pole at my buddy's property last year. I was just looking at ways to upgrade it a bit and see what other tweaks/methods people are using. Holy hell, I never thought of a sliding rail like that. I would have loved an in depth look at that rail system (and maybe even the installation thereof). Really good stuff either way, nice work!
Thank you very much. That’s a barn door rail from Tractor Supply. I’ll put together a rail system video in the near future. Thanks for your time. Happy hunting!

The Gen 8 would be a better matchup to the TRX4
Great point!! Thanks for watching.
What county in NY?
Perfect! Don't go off grid without it and you wont stink.
Very true!! Game changer.

Review coming soon. Thanks for watching
The inconsistent flow indicates a restriction.
Possibly!! Thanks for your input. Chk out the new video on winter production.
I don't know, you guys, but I'm pretty sure that you're very bad at what you do. Good Lord could You will make a worst video
عمل رائع..
كم أحب طبيعة ومن يحبوها
This shizzle makes me thirsty
Cool 80s jam 🤙
Thank you Sir!!
I don't have a homestead, but always thought the idea was really cool. Thank you for sharing your projects. It amazes me the amount of rude comments, but I suppose it shouldn't. People get brave behind a keyboard. You do a great job of handling it all. Thanks again for the great video.
Thank you kindly! I appreciate your input and watching. 👍🏻
Should have been a two minute video
I made a new short one just for you. Enjoy!!!👍🏻
3600 gallons a day, you could fill up a little lake with that. You could put a tank on top of a platform, and not have to use any electricity.
So right!!!🤩💡
2800 gallons a day that’s phenomenal
Thanks!!! Check out the new video about winter production.
Why aren’t you wearing gloves, and why don’t you have a pickax?
Personal preference!! One with the earth 🌎
It looks like you’re getting probably 500 gallons a day just from the first seep, why do all the work to make another one
Attempting to guarantee production. Thank you!!
Wow, it took you over 18 minutes to do a 3 minute video.
Thanks for watching!!
It sounds like a dog
I agree. Thanks!
Buy a 2500 gallon storage tank and forget about the second line
It’s on the list. Thanks!
Will any part of this system freeze? I know running water will not freeze to a point but wondering how cold it has to get before it does freeze.
Surprisingly not!!🙏🏻 Runs year round. Cheers
Just mad a new video for you of it running in the winter.
I would for go the tee and instead run the two source into a collection box and then run the supply to end use. Another option to incres pressure and flow it use a much larger 3 inch pvc a few feet from the seep supply pipe and put 30 fee of 3 inch pvc down hill to the blue hose and place a plastic barrel were the pipes joint. Smart idea to use multiple sources to provide a stable water supply..
Very interesting!!! Thanks for the great idea.
You would increase flow dramatically if you abandon the small diameter PEX for the PVC. PEX is fine under municipal water pressures, but at that length of run, purely gravity fed, you're introducing tons of loss through the PEX.
Very interesting Thank you!!
