I love it. I dont want anything new :\
Whats with the term “bucks” and the American tinge you keep putting on in your accent. It’s making me cringe hard. Im English.
Fun fact the 450d was the first Canon which took SD cards
I still own my first DSLR a Canon EOS 450d, Operation IS so intuitive. Pictures quality IS flawless. Only the ISO capabilities are seriously limiting. But for studio great
When I got serious about photography when I was 16 my dad bought me the Nikon N50 from our local camera store. I pretty much paid for it taking pics at horse shows the first summer I had it. It served me well through art school too. I absolute love the little N50. I pulled it out the other day and as soon as I get a battery I’m gonna take it for a spin.
There was in that era an American photojournalist and photo magazine column writer by the name of Bill Pierce. He referred to cameras like the EOS series as Wunderplastik. You seem to enjoy your channel with justification. As do I.
The one major issue with the EOS 10, 10S, 650 & the like is the failing internal shutter bumper. Evidence in your example shown with the film door open . That dark spot on the shutter leaf upper left will get worse and spread out across the leaves causing them to stick together. Then you need to take 2 pics to get 1. 1st will get no light on the film likely after resting a few minutes. You can VERY VERY CAREFULLY clean it with a cotton swab and alcohol. But it will return. Only way to take care of proper is overhaul. Shutter must come out. Disassemble remove/replace bumper material etc. And while your at it. Take care of the rest while it's apart. I charge $200 which is way more than the value. Or is it? It will very likely keep working another 20 years.....
Now this is a comment thank you. And thank you for keeping them alive :-)
Try dxo photolab... I can use ISO 25600 with near zero noise on the D700 without flash, Great for shows
Well, I've had my 10QD since new, and it still delivers. I could do with a spot meter, but apart from that, it does all you need. I now have a 1D X mkII but all of the brilliant L lenses fit. Meanwhile, I also have an AE1 P and the very forgotten EF that I have also had since new in 1978 .
Great comment ! You’re clearly in the know
My 2nd camera after the S1 Pro. Got the S1 Pro in 2000 then picked this up when it came out on a stopover in Kuala Lumpur on my way from London to Sydney to visit my bro.
Nice video mate - Does this camera have a microphone input? TIA
This is Nikon D 70 S 🔼
Have the 750 and 810 and love them.
Are the photos in the video shot in HQ mode or SHQ mode?
Real camera retro ' against real crap mirror less 2024
Any help
How to remove the blue screen and have a better picture 😢
something about those fish shots on that old cmos sensor that i just love
The F90x (N90s for you US guys) are a classic. A beast of a camera that takes a beating, pops up like Oliver Twist, and asks for more. Yeah, the F4 may let you use it as a weapon if you need to defend your self, but for the price you can't beat the F90x. Have used it for years and it's still my favourite analog Nikon.
What models got this CCD sensor? I got a 5d mark II and canon 5d classic, 5d mark II and 6d are those awesome cameras with “film like” quality. Maybe event the 5d mark iii. I’m not married to any brand so I’m looking at a Nikon d700 since I’ve heard that it’s Nikons best camera ever made!
GREAT video!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 How beautiful Nikon is. Another fan here. GREAT GEAR FOREVER
i thrifted this camera and it’s not turning on, hoping it just needs a new battery to work😅
I love to see people keeping these old work horses alive. I started shooting weddings with a 10D and 20D, and still have, and use, both of them. I would use them more often but the batteries and memory cards are different than what I use in my newer cameras, and they would be too cumbersome in my workflow. Thanks for posting!
Very scary thumbnail image
Formgivare H. S. Magnusson! Some piece of Swedish design i L.A! Nice!
I am shooting my first roll of 35mm since childhood on this camera 😍
ahh the 700 brick ..owned one for a long time ..love it
Pro-tip: If you're looking to get a 5D Mk1, avoid getting one that comes with the battery grip and just buy that separately; most, not all, of the cameras sold with a battery grip were intended to be serious workhorses...
Very helpful video, thank you for the upload 👍.
Got mine for 59 usd
Hello from Finland. I am a fully amateur photographer recently interested getting back to film. I have had a Canon digital SLR earlier. A year ago I bought a Nikon F3 and it has been amazing camera. I have always liked to shoot with aperture priority with my old digital camera and I love F3 and it's "A" mode. I don't care it has batteries and electronics, I just love how it behaves. Just set the aperture, focus and shoot. I love how old fashioned and still easy to use this camera is. My album is now getting filled with great photos, best film photos ever (I used a normal pocket camera in the 90's). I hope my F3 will last my lifetime.
I've bought and sold this camera 4 times over the years, I never gelled well with it. it constantly overexposed the photos, it did have its moments of brilliance, but honestly the 5dc whilst slower was better for me.
You brought up the pronunciation of the name "Nikon". Said you pronounced it like Americans. In matters of the English language, I usually side with British usage. But in this case, the Yanks have it I think. For instance, how would you pronounce the name "Simon"? I rest my case.
I got one of these in mint condition boxed with all accessories, seller offered me the addition lens,so I bought that too,Great little camera,Apparently prosumer not consumer branded, pleased as punch,$3 what a bargain,Mine was quite a bit more than that. But it was complete and original box too,Great video.
Heyy, i got this camera from second hand and it didnt come with any cables. Do you only need those to charge the battery itself (externally), or those to charge the camera directly?
@@sebikms The camera will charge the battery through its own charging circuit,Or get the charger that charges C-Type info lithium batteries externally,The other leads are for putting it through tv etc,EBay is good for retro chargers batteries leads etc.
@@neilrobinson5115 Thank you so much, u are lifesaver :D
@@sebikms No problem 👍
i don't use mine. the 139 has manual settings making it a camera you can use for everything
You need to use lens hoods to increase contrast
Still use my D2X
just wondering if you came across a setting where the flash pops up when reaching a minimum shutter speed ???
First
the beautiful articulating screen
Early Konicas were bullet proof. Copal shutter... metal bodies.
Great video
Bought my A55 12 years ago. A Minolta owner since 1971. I now own too many cameras. ;-) But I love the GPS. I also love the XI motorized zooms along with some extraordinary sharp beer cans and Macros. I just bought an A65 for $160.00 on Ebay for slide and negative copying along with two extraordinary sharp 100mm and 50mm macro lenses. I also own a nice set of Canon RF series cameras and RF lenses. Sold my A7R II and lenses and went with the Canon RF system. Thanks for the video!
You should make sure you have the updated firmware to handle larger CF cards. The mirror just needs 4 tiny drops of super glue if it falls off, mine fell off after many years and re-glued it several years ago with no problem at all and it has remained attached. I would not worry at all about the mirror being retrofit or whatever. The claim made by some videos that the mirror falling off was only for early models is not really accurate, so just assume all of them have a potential issue maybe. Without the updated firmware if you use a larger CF card, and most are larger, then when reviewing the images you may cause the card to fail. Not sure if it will fail while shooting a larger CF card with the old firmware but it happened to me while reviewing the images on the camera using a larger card; firmware update fixed it. The revised final firmware is out there somewhere, I found it but don't recall where. I have had zero problems with removing and installing the CF cards, I don't know who these people are who can't do that safely but it is no big deal in that or any other camera I have with a CF card. So, don't get paranoid over pins and CF cards, just be sane in your usage and you will be fine. It renders images quite nicely and does have a pleasant color palette. For Jpegs in landscape try jacking up the colors and such, it has a nice look to it. It is a camera for slow and deliberate work and if you have to shoot things that move, like people, you will have to really think about how it is best done, i.e. closing the aperture, focus trapping and the like. It is essentially the same focus system as on the Mark II and I have used that in a wedding and it was fine. The 24-105 F4 L works nicely for almost everything, so I would get that with it if possible. I have not used manual focus lenses with it, so no idea how that may go. Best wishes!
I agree, this is a great way to get into analog photography. However... I made this mistake and now have a camera that can't be repaired. I wanted a rangefinder and did a deep dive on them. I found one that I liked the look of black and white images from it- a Petri 7s. It was dirt cheap on ebay and in abundance. I paid $10 for a pristine one plus shipping. And I never got to use it. In turning the aperture ring and firing the shutter to see how it worked, an aperture blade came loose. So it has an oddball aperture opening that could still be useable. And then the shutter stopped working. This is just me playing with it, before using it. I never got to use it. I bought a Yashica Electro 35G, got it CLA'd and it works like a champ. Save yourself some grief and buy a brand name camera that's proven.
I bought a 5d classic when it come out. My old version had some focusing issues. At the time I had the 24-70 2.8, 70-200 f4 and 50mm f1.8. I couldn't get a sharp in focus image when shooting wide open so I ended up selling it because it doesn't allow in camera lens callibration. However, I did love the images coming from the camera that were in focus and at some point I will pick up another one. It's not all doom and gloom as I still have my Canon 5d mk III :)
Pero editas las fotos después no?
How long is ‘too’ long to leave batteries in for?
Great video! I bought a D70 with a AF Nikon 35-80 lens for $35.00.
I’ve been wanting to shoot with my super 8 camera for a while now but haven’t made the financial commitment to buying and developing the film. I think I have this exact same camera in silver actually.
You shoot totally try it
