    I fly to Asia alot and we approach Vancouver from the West. I think this eastern approach is better. That first lake is massive. I think its Harrison Lake.

  • @temporarywindow

    Yeah, I love this approach. Never arrived into Vancouver from the West, would love to try it. And maybe a flight between Vancouver and Anchorage over the coast range, that would be cool flight to be on.

    First time I heard the French before the English upon arrival. Is it because the flight originated in Montreal?

  • @temporarywindow
    @temporarywindow2 ай бұрын

    I'm not sure.. I have a full flight on this channel from Montreal to Toronto on a 777. I just checked and the first announcement after landing was made in English. Not sure what the official policy is.

    Reminds me when I flew Air Canada The Summer of 1988 From Toronto to Vancouver on the Air Canada L1011 1988 taking off on Runway 5 then made the awesome turn heading towards west to Vancouver. We did needed to land in Calgary to pick up fuel there to continue the flight over seas to Asia since in Vancouver/YVR had the power outage. Such a Beautiful View as we were flying over the mountains towards Vancouver listening to some soft music they had played on selected channels. Those Were The Days. I had the window seat on the left hand side with the Engine and Wing View. I remember after the take off the engine displayed the huge vapor trails like on most B-777, A-380s, B747-8s displays them too while I thought that was so cool that this plane had done that, very unlikely that it was done on an L1011 but this one did and it was so cool :-). I was very happy to be on that flight. Air Canada L1011 1988.

    I would never believe that the two cities are so far apart even when flying by air.

  • @temporarywindow
    @temporarywindow2 ай бұрын

    Yeah Canada is huge. Longest flight we have is Halifax to Vancouver at 2,760 miles long, which is 700 miles longer than Toronto to Vancouver. I believe the longest theoretic flight between two Canadian airports that are serviced by at least one airline is approximately 3,253 miles, from St. John's, NL to Dawson City, YT.
