I spend a lot of time in my back yard working on Gardens, Mowing the grass, Composting, Mulching, Growing Vegetables and Fruits, Working on my Truck and some Cars, Doing odds and ends, Working in my Shed, Scheming against the Groundhogs and Possums, Doing Crafts, and so on. I call it my Back 40.
-- Etymology: back + forty, meaning “back side of a farm”. In the Homestead Acts (1860's), American farmers were granted a quarter section; a section was 640 acres, a quarter section was 160 acres, and the quarter section was itself subdivided into four quarter sections of 40 acres each: two front forty and two back forty which were wild or rough terrain adjacent to a developed area.
At times, My back yard seems like Wild and Rough terrain. Thus I call it the Back 40.

I have a spot like this in my backyard. A friend who is very knowledgeable told me that it was aphids from the tree above. What she said is that aphids drink water and it essentially runs through their body super fast and it comes out as droplets. I don’t know if she was anywhere near correct, but who knows

-- Yes, there is something messed up with the valve on the water spicket, and it is stuck in the closed position. I went into the house and found some jugs for water. We take good care of all of our animals. Now I have to do some plumbing work.

You can get a whole lot of seeds for a fraction of the price compared to buying little seed packets. You can get fennel seeds, mustard seeds, poppy seeds, and more. Please keep us updated on your experience, and if you feel like it, post some videos. I'm certain that I would watch them.

I used heavy duty fence wire. 2 feet out and 1 foot up the side. Overlap several inches.landscaping blocks and chunks of concrete on top. Around my shed and my deck. My neighbors have them. Keep a close eye on these areas. Smoke bombs down the hole and a fan blowing down will maybe show where the hole exits. They live in bunches under my neighbors shed. They share places. Was lucky to find oven racks and store shelving free.that helped some spots. Has worked for years. Peeing, nonsense. Made you feel good.
-- Thank you for your knowledge and familiarity with the little creatures from hades. Every bit of input is greatly valued. The groundhogs always seem to find a workaround. I just don't have the time to chase down every one of them.

-- Groundhogs digging under the house will destroy your foundation and property values. I suggest pouring bags of dry concrete mix down the holes. It will eventually set up as solid concrete, but until then, the groundhogs will get it all over themselves and breathe it in. When they clean themselves, it goes into their mouth and stomach.

-- There have been times when I wished the chickens were larger and laid larger eggs. But then there's days when the chicken's have that look in their eyes like they are sizing me up as a potential food source.
I had to buy a socket wrench with a pretty long arm, but short enough to fit inside the wheel well. Then, I placed the end of a long 2 x 8 board over the handle of the wrench and stood on top of the board. This allowed me to use my full weight on the wrench and that worked!
-- Amazing what we go through just to save some money by doing the work ourselves. It took me a day and 1/2 to get that darned bolt to loosen. I had the job done within an hour after getting that bolt out of there.
