It's amazing how many of these native drummers are on You Tube. Equally amazing is the fact that they all sound virtually the same. I can only figure that it takes very little talent to do that.

I've seen large square-shaped drums used by Ghanian drummers, are the ones in the video typical for Guinea? First time I see them.

It is the same drum but with a different name in Guinea (Siko) and played as an ensemble like this instead of sitting on top like the Gome or playing in one hand like on Kpanlogo, etc. It's been documented that these style drums were brought back to Africa by Jamaican maroons, many of whom who ended up back in Sierra Leone. Look up the Gumbe drums story on the Afrobeat Worldwide podcast, great stuff!

What a beautiful sound this all-star line generates! It gives me a feeling of connection... Maybe to the earth, maybe to the artists themselves or maybe to life and consciousness all together ... I like to think all of the above ,

Now in almost 36 years if drumming I never heard of nor played Camel skin. Sounds nice especially when placed on and tuned right. Definitely have to try one of those out whenever I have the money and order one. I've played on goat of course mule horse calf cow elk and a few other different kinds of deer skin. But camel man that is interesting very much so
