Ancient history. Tyler came back a couple months after months of supposedly suffering severe depression after his father's death. Seemed like all was finally good recently. He posted a few videos then "dadadadaaaa". He has ducked out once again, at least on KZread. Seems like things are back to normal. I hope he finds his peace.
Dune Part 2 is the best movie of the last 20 years
Actually went to see part 2 without having seen part 1, and I absolutely fell in love with it. Didn't take too long to figure out what was going on and it was so stunning I've been absolutely hyper focused on it for a month now 🤣
I liked the first dune. Dune part 2 lost me. I was like you can end already. Tesb and t2 kept me watching. I looked at my phone 3 times to see what time of it. I saw dune part 1 3 times. I have to go back and watch the end of part 2 because i didn't care to see what happened.
Needs Weirding Modules
These Dune movies blew me out the water. They were absolutely incredible. Everything about them. Top 5 favorite movies. Specially the second one. Timothée Chalamet was just insanely good. The scene where Paul makes the emperor kiss his ring… That fucking scene gave Me goosebumps! Some of the best movie magic I’ve ever seen! The cinematic photography was in another level! The music was incredible! The casting was perfect! Everything about these movies is perfect!

The new Dune movies SUCKED. BOTH movies are TURDS. Gold coated beautiful turds but still TURDS. IT was just a slide show with zero storytelling. Villeneuve hates storytelling. As a remake of a the classic book - id give it a 6. Alot of the music sounded phoned in, didnt use hardly any of the excellent dialog from the book, his visions arent properly explained, not as much action as in the book, everyone is alot more intelligent and deadly in the book. The Harkonans look like a joke. The end fight scene was blah.

This adaptation of Herbert's Opus is better than Lynch's but far from perfect. Several departures from source material in both. I give Lynch's flick a C, Villeneuve gets a B-. The ending is problematic as it does not account for Chani being pregnant. I doubt Villeneuve truly understands what Herbert was trying to convey as a cautionary tale about power and messianic beliefs.
Hollywood would do well to learn how to write strong powerful female characters without making them into boring girl bosses. Paul’s mother in my opinion is the greatest actress actor in this film. No one hits me in my gut more than her.
Let me just say that taking freaking antidepressants isn't EVER GONNA MAKE YOU F***ED UP AT ALL EVER! Look if you've never taken a certain type of medication don't make assumptions that every single type of medication is addictive and can be gotten high on! Can you PLEASE just go do some research on the medication types you claim it's possible he was high on. Antidepressants don't include things like benzos(Xanax or Valium) that can mess you up. These things are so incremented that it literally takes months just to find out if they're going to work for you! Period. So, no that isn't even a thing. Read up on drugs that people get prescribed and can actually get dependent upon, messed up on, etc. This ain't that my man! My first reaction was "AWE! How cute! He actually thinks people who are suffering from depression are given extremely addictive drugs when they're most susceptible to self medicating! " Nope! Not even close!

Seeing the Bene Gesserit Jessica in pt2 juxtaposed with the mother Jessica was so satisfying to me as a book fan. Jessica is my favorite character in Dune and Children, and Pt2 captured it beautifully.
The dune series was the final nail in the coffin for Star Wars. The new dune movies and it’s popularity have shown that Star Wars copied dune, then it all became Disney-fied with things just for corporate profit, then we get two amazing movies better then Star Wars. It also is getting very VERY popular so all my points will become clear to thousands of more people.
HAHAHAHAHA I SAW THE THUMBNAIL AND BURSTED OUT LAGUHING. Ah kids these days will never know what the golden age of science fiction movies was like, these newer Dune movies sucked, but people see something that looks original with an original lore and automatically go crazy and become simps. It was a mediocre movie with great visuals and forgettable performances, the casting was horrific. The original from David Lynch with all its flaws and technologic limitations of the time at least had a soul and was way more immersive, I literally fell asleep during the 2nd Dune because of how boring and unengaging it was, what held this movie was the original story and lore, but my god, some of the most unconvincing performances Ive seen.
It's good. It's very, very good. Let's not get carried away.

Am I the only one glad I didn't read the books? As good as this movie was I'm glad I wasn't tainted with another version of this story in my head while I was watching it.
I don't know if I can forgive him for cutting out The Guild from the climax. It's so important. And is Chani the daughter of Liet? Because the Kynes kinda primed the Fremen too, and book Chani is religious too, and these movies never made that explicit, iirc.

Dune is 1 movie for commercial purposes like the Lord of the Rings trilogy it had to be 2 movies. As a movie based on fantasy action (no space duels here) it was superb and in the same class as Lord of the Rings and the acting was top notch

Stilgar saying "I don't care if you believe, I believe!" mirrors a scene from "The Last Temptation of Christ," where Jesus in his final dream meets the apostle Paul - and despite Jesus being alive and well, Paul is out preaching the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. In their heated exchange, Paul says much the same thing that Stilgar does, and finally ends the discussion with "I'm glad I met you, because now I can forget about you," and he goes on preaching his message while Jesus walks away in disgust.
Dune 2 is a mediocre Achievement
I've been saying this is a Star Wars killer. I have friends that claim Heresy. But this is a once in a Generation trilogy. Up there with the likes of Nolans Batmans & Lord of the Rings. Is nearly indescribable just how amazing these two films are. The re-watch ability is off the charts. The sound is stuff of genius. The acting top notch. Denis Villeneuve storytelling is as good as cinema gets. This is the zenith of movie making in 24' We have arrived folks. Welcome to the show.

I went from witnessing the eclipse in Vermont to watching this in theaters for the first movie I even cared to watch since 2019. It was awesome, both the eclipse and the movie. Hollywood has been feeding people cat food for activists who only care about power. Go silently into the sweet night as you cause your irrelevance.
One of my favorite parts about Dune was the sound - the effects are amazing, especially in a cinema, and the music helps convey the feeling that Paul is a false profit that will lead to doom! Just like the original books intend to show us. @@Cleveland_Rocks dune is not a battle between good and evil with laser swords and heroes saving princesses, it is a political story with manipulative people, there is regret but there is no redemption. The intention of both works is very clear, I prefer the more realistic and even pessimistic world of dune.
I did show part two to my grandma and mom without them seeing part 1 and they loved it
Now all they need is to start up the Battletech universe and my life would be complete.
D2 was good. But please get back on your meds with the ESB talk. I was there in 1980. Not even close.
Always when you talk about ESB it's about how iconic and innovative it was, but if you ignore that nostalgia you know that Dune Part 2 is a technically far superior film.
