  The only reason Europe was able to colonize Africa (except Ethiopia) is because Africa wasn't united under one umbrella ( which includes it's economic and defense system) I feel this individualistic mindset Africans have today have long been a part of us , i mean, why couldn't Ethiopia offer is military power for the defense of the neighboring dynasties around her, at least if not the whole of Africa. If they had shared their arsenal in gun power with the other empires , I think the resistance to the colonialists could be achieved. I typed this comment before I got to 1:06:18
