Stayf Draws

Stayf Draws

I make video tutorials about drawing and painting on the iPad Pro in Procreate and other drawing apps. I am Stefan (Stayf) de Groot, a Dutch artist. I have been doing that professionally for over twenty years. I want to share my experience and the things I have learned with you. With the drawing tutorials you can learn to draw or improve your drawing skills. I also make product reviews of books, ebooks and products for digital drawing. Drawing is fun and practice makes perfect, doodles!
You can buy my brushes and tutorials on Gumroad.

    You can make shapes of all of the body parts of the character and animate them. Then you only need to color them once.

    I bought the 11inch iPad Pro, couldn’t justify the extra and I wanted the new Magic Keyboard and the new pencil. My old 12.9 iPad Pro had a colour shift because I managed to leave it in the sun and it overheated. :( It left the whole screen with a horrible green caste. :( When you draw and take photos it’s not what you want. I’ve noticed a big difference in the clarity of the screen, the depth of blacks and the brightness of whites. I’m getting used to the difference in size. Loving the pencil and I don’t mind the squeeze function now I’ve got used to that.

  • @PeachyNanaUK
    @PeachyNanaUK17 күн бұрын

    To be honest because you can zoom in the difference between the 11 and the 13 isn’t a big deal for drawing.

    Question, please...it looks like you can only go left to right, and if you make mistakes, going back to change one phoneme frame will change every frame to the right into that same phoneme. Do you just have to be very careful on the first pass, or can you switch frames later without changing the rest?

  • @HyperAnimated
    @HyperAnimated24 күн бұрын

    Whoops, tried it and answered my own question. 😅 It only changes phoneme markers until it hits the next one of a different type to the right, so you can go back and edit.

    I really appreciate your video Staf. I brought the new M2 iPad Pro last year and am really glad I did. Having Face ID & 120hz display is very useful. Because I already had the Magic Keyboard & Apple Pencil 2 it cost me half the price of the new iPad Pro once I buy all the new accessories. I’m like you - the double tap, hover etc is very annoying as I constantly trip it when I don’t want to and it is so annoying so I switched all the features off. The things that do tempt me about the new iPad is the thinness & lightness and the OLED display looks amazing. But not amazing enough to pay double the price. I’m happy to keep what I have.😊

    Hey thanks for the mouth shape and grouping tips. You went through everything in a couple of minutes rather than 20-30 minutes in other videos. Splitting and enabling/disabling layers is also just waaaay better than making and duplicating a million skngle frames. Gonna save like 70% time with this. Thanks a bunch.

    I often think I would give so much to see this painting up close. I saw this film when it first came out, and announced at age seven I wanted to become an artist for Disney. I did become an art teacher, and was thrilled to find this little film at the back of the sleeping beauty DVD set, and I showed it to my students - it inspired them, I think, as much as it did me. This I think, is what Disney wanted to pass on to young people more than anything else.

    Immaculate work! This is inspiring me to start painting again.. especially when Hopper's Nighthawks came on the screen was a definitive sign. I started laughing; I was given a computer with that as the screensaver.. not a coincidence. Also, I love it when you paid homage to your influences with adding a part of their style to your own work. Your art is beautiful. Keep sharing your craft.

    I'm sorry I'm a little confused I couldn't hear the audio of the mouth so it's like you're randomly just throwing any mouth shape in an order how do I know which mouth shape to use? Can I hear it when it's time to the video?

  • @StayfDraws
    @StayfDraws2 ай бұрын

    This is a fast way to do mouth sync. I just listen to the phonetics instead of taking all the vowels literally. You can of course make more mouth shapes and apply them to each vowel and consonant.
