"A play of good and evil on another plane." Amazing description of what the black lodge is. The abstractions of good and evil. Of reality.
I learned about Twin Peaks after I've heard Twin Peaks is his biggest inspiration. Mr. Robot was my favourite show of all time then. Now Twin Peaks (the whole series, including the film and the Return) is number one but Mr. Robot is still a very close second! These two shows are so good that I can't find a 3rd to put in with them.
I love how you end the intro with, "if you want to finally understand what's going on right now, take a listen" I say almost the same thing to everyone I know that I send Curtis' most recent series to. Crazy.
How is this even real?! 2 of my favorite people that i would never have ever thought in a billion years would talk let alone put something online. My head hurts this is almost unreal. (i should say i use to love tim, for over a decade his work was my favorite but recently he's lost his mind and i just can't believe this has happened lol)
29:05 Kirin's prisoner screaming in the background
God! I LOVED this. I've been a fan of Tori's since God know when, it was so nice listening to this interaction.
It's always a great joy listening to this episode. Such a lovely conversation of three lovely people.
Thanks for listening!
So you start this video out with the most libtard take imaginable... never down voted and shut off a video so fast.. 😂😂 💯
The money will eventually run out and you'll be stuck thinking about the fact that your significant other slept with someone else while being with you
This is about 8 years old but interesting to hear.
I think if you're going to upload an important interview like this you should really make it very clear WHEN it was done, namely March 23rd, 2017 (according to the Talkhouse website). Things have changed quite a bit since then I think and especially with the upcoming US election at hand, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the genocide in Gaza, and the surge of right wing politics in Europe... I'm very curious what Adam Curtis has to say regarding more recent developments in world politics, and not so much what he as saying in 2017..
Yes, this episode is from 2017. Unfortunately, KZread's podcast integration has not allowed us to backdate publish times on KZread. All other podcast platforms and the Talkhouse website have the correct publish date. Sorry for any confusion this caused.
it confused me too but you can tell pretty quickly it's pre covid.
KZread is always late in recommending Phil interviews smdh
Great conversation. Thanks for sharing it here. It's devolution, baby!
An interesting combination. As a sad side note this might be one of Morgan Spurlock's final public appearances.
I wish Tim did more of the talking
Its not just this podcast at all, but what is going on. Everyone sounds like a Valley Girl, like that was 1984 or something. 40 years later we havent moved beyond that. And I swear its not even people consciously doing it, its like IN the microphones. IM not talking about the guests. Dont get me wrong.
A wonderful commentary on a wonderful film. The epidemic of homelessness is brought to light in a humorous, humane, and tender way.
😮 Great combo
the thing I like most about Adam's stuff is that he thinks about the bigger picture
Listening to these two is what ADHD is like.
3 ADVERTS 13 MINUTES IN. COME ON.
get premium ya cheapskate

Why are there only 64 views
Haha, I have no words. I'm just glad I randomly stumbled across this.
massive thanks - appreciate the intro - lots to digest. Adam Curtis goes full Adam Curtis and I love the total lack of any character. There's no change going from ʜʏᴘᴇʀɴᴏʀᴍᴀʟɪᴢᴀᴛɪᴏɴ narration to this clip, and he's simply speaking his mind honestly kinda scientifically in a way. Adam has a lot of patience and respect for bias and honestly I think Americans like hearing people with UK accents confirming that Americans, Brits, Chinese, and the others are simply 'winging it' , over and over, in progressively flashier ways, but also that ultimately everybody does nothing very efficiently. His perspective is always in the distance and I think he truly fufills his role as the alien tourist who just wants watch humans understand crucial ideas. There aren't many people with enough emotional maturity and self awareness to keep their head down and actually walk to their destination. I liken Adam to Burial , Banksy, Richard D James, Kaufman, Kubrick, ReviewBrah ... or the strabger who shows you a trick to get extra stuff in a vending machine. But not because of some sketchy motive or angle- just to watch another human being realize that reality isn''t just a systematic shuffle to the grave, you just have to poke around and assume nothing. basically like a child or sausagedog.
So interesting hearing Tim speak with Adam Curtis
5:14
Caveh doesn't understand humor haha
Yep, i always feel bad for harmony, he always gets interviewed by these self-serious dorks.
Dope

Underrated dialogue of two genius creators
Thanks for listening!
underrated channel wtf this is a wonderful conversation between 2 amazing artists
Thanks for listening! We have some more conversations you may be into: Kevin Parker (Tame Impala) with Dan Snaith (Caribou), Jemaine Clement with Ruban Nielson (Unknown Mortal Orchestra), and Nick Allbrook (Pond) with Josh Conway (The Marías).
Thanks. Very good interview! Both great drummers!
Interesting
Get your dirty hands off Powder's soul. Powder does not get aroused. LOL. That's just a reflection of you. He wants to know what it would be like to fit in with and be like all the other boys. 😛
Isakov is my fav all time. Great Podcast. Thanks for sharing.
I was like 9 when my family rented this movie. In the scene where Dreyfuss tries to drum up the girl's confidence and asks her what she likes most about herself before she could answer I called out, "her hair". Of course that's what she says and all the adults in the room are shocked, thinking I've seen it before. I'm now 32 watching satrical essay about what I knew at 9 years old
Adam always has such a good way of delivering his knowledge and opinions. Always enlightening and enriching.
6:00min can't wait for the return of the Ry Cooder slide guitar
love listening to these two talk shop about film and film-making ♥
Thanks for listening!
Tamara, my name is Johann and want to send you the best energies. I admire you as you have no idea. One of my yearns is to have the possibility of seeing you face to face. I live in Colombia and I know is something very difficult to fulfilled but as I saw in the movie” Saint Raphael”….. miracles can happen. I hope that someday you see this message, and if possible to receive a message from you it would be great and a half 😊. Wanting and wishing the best for you always no matter what. You seem as a being of good heart and that’s the most important thing. The best for you Tamara, always !!! A sincere hug.
Having seen Jay live and listened to several interviews, that’s probably the most I’ve heard from him! Thanks for this.
Thanks for listening!
2 gorgeous women
You do what you do.. let me enjoy .Thank you.
Im a "songwriter"right? These people are so deep and smart. The creativity is seriously off the scale. Too much.... big fan.
Hes talking absolute bollocks. Bourgeois journalism including TV has been spewing out mistruths, bias and pure lies for decades. To say they're telling us what we already know is a pure lie.
I love Hannah 🫶! I wish she would post a couple videos on TikTok, more people need to discover her music !
Ariel Pink starts talking at 7:10
when does he stop?
murphy just won the scar 2024, right?
