    Curious to know if one could use Aluminium Rectangular Tube Box Section such as 6082T6 or 6063T6? I guess it is much more expensive but easier to sqare the edges, but not sure if it would provide the same rigidity -maybe that could be overcome by getting a thicker guage. Hoping someone who has metallurgy knowlege can chime in.

    I followed your instructions, you made it look so easy. My reality differed a bit when the tiny spring that holds the retention pin in went flying across the desk into a pile of paperwork and the spring and pin that retain the action spring likewise departed the gun when I wasn't looking. Thankfully, I managed to locate all the parts and figure out how they all went back in. I think.....

    old Parelle port controller from wind cnc . even Cam master moved to centroid with ethernet

  • @Buildistics
    @Buildistics7 ай бұрын

    I'm curious what the issue is. I personally know of several Shopsabre machines (all using parallel ports). And all without issue. If there's a technical advantage to moving to ethernet, I'd like to hear it.

  • @jeffcoldon1496
    @jeffcoldon14967 ай бұрын

    it outdated controller limited features. plain simple wind cnc has not updated there controllers in over 10 years Cam master switched off them to centroid. win cnc requires old tech pc windows 11 doesn't do parallel ports lot reasons the whole cnc world been using ethernet last 10 years or more . it faster response most controllers like centroid acorn run in real time better motion response resolution were old parallel port the pc is the controller i can go on all day why it better . i surprised shop Sabor still using them

  • @Buildistics

    It probably appears super easy to some viewers, but I just didn't have time to spend "a few days" on it after spending *weeks* tinkering with it. PrintNC is a good project for some hobbyists who don't mind trading their time in an attempt to make things work.

    The spindle takes it's own dedicated 220v plug. Where is the 220v plug on the machine, I never saw it?

  • @Buildistics

    That has to be wired up separately. 20amp circuit.

  • @JD-nq4vb
    @JD-nq4vb8 ай бұрын

    @@Buildistics Yes I understand it takes its own dedicated 220v, but what I'm asking is...Where is the ACTUAL PLUG on the machine that PLUGS IN to the 220v outlet? I did not see one. The PHYSICAL CHORD AND PLUG?

  • @Buildistics
    @Buildistics8 ай бұрын

    @@JD-nq4vb They do not include one. They recommend an electrician wire it up. I did it myself, as noted at 3:55. It's essentially 12GA wire connected to a 20amp plug (they look different than your standard 110v plug). The other end is connected to the terminals shown at 3:58.

  • @JD-nq4vb
    @JD-nq4vb8 ай бұрын

    @@Buildistics Yeah I know what they look like, but there are two types of 220v plugs, that's why I was asking so I know whick wall plug to buy. Thank you very much for the info and responding, especially so promptly, you've been a big help. My SS23 gets here Saturday. Thanks again.

    Well, I bent the shit out of the tiny spring because I was trying to screw the stock back on with the spring still in it. The spring got caught while turning and the spring turned with it, bending it to the point of no bending it back. I guess I should have followed instructions for that. Well, you can lead a horse to water...

    As a guy who has built 30+ custom PCs, I did laugh a little when I got mine.That said, it’s a decent PC which basically is a dedicated PCIE controller running WinCNC. I do appreciate the simplicity here as it runs cool and doesn’t have a lot of fluff to break. I did a few minor upgrades, added an SSD for backup and replaced the monitor, and upgraded to windows 11.

  • @Buildistics
