THANK YOU FOR THE ILLUSTRATION!! oh my godddd ive been looking for this. But also, im wondering... Is there a way to do this without all the pulleys?
I could not find anyone addressing this issue and I've been searching for a few days off and on since I couldn't find one that actually had a scene on the backdrop. THANK YOU SO MUCH
Hi. I found your video very helpful and easy to understand. Could you please advise me on the pulley system I might use to lift a 9 metre/27 foot long stage backdrop made of fabric? I need to raise it approx 4 metres off the stage. The problem I have is that the wooden plank across the top of the backdrop will need to be secured at more than just the ends. Please help. Thank you. Raphael Williams
How to put the curtain?
This is brilliant because it introduces a pulley that can be used for any lifting purpose. The advantage is that both side pull evenly!! Thank you for your great diagrams and info. Why are the S hooks necessary- for ease of movement? Rotation?
Where to bye ?
Buy I mean
Good job sir salute
That's wonderful but what about the bottom we just left the ropes to the floor does it stay there
Nice 👍
Great one ☝️
Can i add 5 more pulleys in between for wider and heavier back drafts?
Please contact details
Yay! Great video
thank you
Dear bro..if u show practically it will be easy to understand pls..
Thank you so much for the clear explanation.
Or, if you want it even cheaper, just put the line through bigger eye-hooks instead of pulleys. Works for me on a 5kg of roll up curtain.
I wonder if there is a way to somehow make it portable or utilize pieces of the very common backdrop stand that doesn't have roll-up capabilities... Also, would love to see how it actually works
Short of a nice to actually show a working model other than that it was a waste of time
So what does it do?
Hey; I really appreciate the simplicity of this video! Your explanation of the pulley drive; clear camera angle on the knot/dowel set up; S hooks etc. was spot on for me. Thank you for sharing.
demo how it works ?
I love your ideal, I have situation that I think you might be able to help we have a tall 20 x24 foot metal carport that we use twice a year for the holidays I need a way to rig up a pully system for a tarp on the opening just for the day. Okay so no demonstration on how it works. BIG FAT THUMBS DOWN!!!
To show it in action would really help us visual learners....
kinda quiet but awesome
What do I do if when I lower it. It only lowers on one side! I need both sides to go down at once.

No demo. :(
can you do a video of you making it. Also when giving instructions on what is needed, can you put the words somewhere that popups ads, and youtube labelling isn't going to block it? Thankyou
what
Not much good
I need a 50 meter back drop pulley system. The height is 15feet. Please advise me. Your video was very informative.
In place of the 10 foot dowel or rod, just use an exact length of rope you need to carry your specific project. 50 meters huh? Lol Well then use a rope 50 meters long. Get your required number of pulleys, eye bolts, and S hooks. (Instead of S hooks you can use D rings or carabiners) You obviously cannot screw an eye bolt in each end of the carrying rope as he did in each end of the dowel. But, you can use an O ring on either end of it instead. Then simply string everything together as he diagrammed it. Use your phone to take a picture of his written diagram. Then just follow the 'map' and you'll get there. . .
I need to lift a 50 meter pipe . Please advise.

Please in French possible..please
You only needed one double pulley. If you REALLY want the pull-part of the rope off to the side, then simply use a SINGLE pulley at the near end of the rod. If you needed to keep the long cross-rope from sagging, simply screw in an eye-hook or two across the middle, and route the rope through that.
Works like a dream
Dude! Your lighting sucks!!!
Wouldn’t this work just as well with only one double pulley?
Please in French
Helpful video, thanks. So are the s-hooks and eye hooks for the pulleys to allow them to swivel according to the direction of the force? Also, what is the purpose of the second double pulley? Is it just to reduce the force required to lift the dowel or does it serve another purpose? I'm a bit thick like so need these kind of things explaining. lol :)
great system to lift anything i guess. i like the part of the detail when you mentioned a two pulleys in the initial sequence of pulleys - which i believe is the starting pulley and the last one to attach. thanks
I'm sorry to say the way you show it, won't work. It would just lift 1/2 of curtain, you need to a way to wind, an eye screw in the center of of the dowel, will just pull up. to roll up you need to staple that dowel on one side to use a rolling device and attach one end of the cord and the rest of the cord, under and the other side to the first pulley.
Danilo Scott it’s ok if you don’t get it. It works just as intended.
Nice and easy, I like it. Giving you 996 reasons to see out channel as well.
