    Imagine paying fifty thouasand for a katana that has the same blade engraving that a $60 Masahiro gas station katana has on its 1045 blade with a wire brushed hamon.

    wow its kind of crazy that a sword is worth 5 000 000 yen and that suit of armor is only 1.65 million yen. The amount of hours it would take you to make that suit of armor would be enough to forge, grind, sharpen and fit at least four katanas, yet its worth less. Especially the mail portion.. that requires a lot of painfully slow work.

    Is it safe to run a battery heating pad and a battery maintainer at the same time. I live in Alaska currently it's -40 and I'm having issues with my battery going dead.. I bought the trickle charger and I winterized my truck completely by myself. Now just wondering if you can run both the pad and charger going to the 4 way??

    Geez, I had such a dumb question I couldn't get an answer to... and your video solved it for me. I've been using my new maintainer for this past week, with alligator clips, and wanted to install the permanent clips instead. And while I know it's safe to touch the battery, I was nervous about screwing down the nuts once the lead was attached (even with the charger itself not connected). Like, I'd create some electrical arc with me in the middle of it, haha. I don't know this kind of basic stuff and I always have to try to Google search it out. I just knew something bad would happen and the AAA dude I'd have to call to tow my car (once I shorted the whole thing out and recovered from severe burns) would say, "Oh wow, lady, you mean you actually touched the nuts AFTER you had the lead on?!! Didn't you know that created a closed circuit with high voltage?!!" Haha. Anyway, thanks for putting your hands all over that while installing the permanent clips/lead! Answered my question for sure. I just finished putting it on, wove the plug end thru the front grill, and I'm really pleased with myself. I love not having to worry about my little Honda FIT battery dying due to endless short trips and long stretches with no driving. But especially pleased now with the easy come 'n go aspect of this setup... I don't have to pop the hood at all now. Thanks for the video!

    hi, whats the name of that adjustable ruler? how do you know what height to set the studs at?

  • @backcountryrich7740
    @backcountryrich77406 ай бұрын

    Hi, I got that ruler at a hardware store. Probably find one on Amazon or Harbor Freight. I installed the studs with no thread locker initially and made sure that there were a few threads remaining above the nut when tightened down while also accounting for the gasket thickness. Hope that helps.

  • @backcountryrich7740
    @backcountryrich77407 ай бұрын

    Thanks! If your truck is 2-12 volt batteries in parallel (12 volt system) you can connect one 12 volt charger similar to the one I have. Connect positive to positive on the first battery and negative to negative on the second. The charger you buy might need to be more robust than mine since you have 2 batts. Good wiring diagrams online for 2 battery automotive systems. Hope that helps.

  • @frankhite9849

    @@backcountryrich7740 so if i only have 1 positive and one negative lead coming out of the charger i could splice into them and add an extra lead to each one? then make the connections in parallel like you mentioned?

    Do you have the link to these stud extractors. That’s what I need. I don’t like how to remove and install the studs with the two nut method as I feel it strips the nut and bolt. That’s what happened to me one of them stripped really bad so I just used a dremel to cut a notch in it to see if I can get a flathead on it but it broke the Piece of metal from stud so now have no other way to remove unless get this stud extractor socket. Even with only trying to get it torque to about 14 lbs can’t get it.

    This is probably a dumb question, but why didn't you just keep the unit external from the car, and then route the quick disconnect cable out? Wouldn't that prevent the need to even route an extension cable in the car, let alone have to figure out mounting of the unit?

  • @backcountryrich7740

    I have the truck winterized with an engine block heater, oil pan/transmission heating pad and onboard battery charger. This all ties into the 4 way outlet plug and then a single pigtail sticking out of the front grill to accept a extension cord. That way when I go to work or travel abroad I can plug it in for a couple of hours so it will start in really cold weather. Down to -60F. Hopefully that answered your question. Thanks for watching!
