Trunks getting super Saiyan rage makes more sense than anyone else to be. He has such shit life like if you really think about it. He starts life with just a mom and meets gohan. Then gohan dies so he can go super saiyan. Then goes back in time to warn them. they basically flip trunks off. i don't care about things being different. Goku stopping his medicine is just wild. they just let androids be born. He trains in time chamber with pops for pops to just neglect him the whole time. Vegeta then lets cells become perfect and for that help vegeta attacks trunks. Cell kills trunks later get brought back to go back to peace? not goku black shows up kills his mother and everyone on the planet eventually. Like bro just wants to help. But ill say this though trunks has so many ass pulls in super it hurts. The form hurts he goes from not being able to fight one to both and as able to survive its definitely wtf. the sword scene is cool but also like how? him learning the mafuba the way does actually upsets me still.

My hot take is that Super Saiyan Blue is objectively the best Saiyan transformation, and allows for greater versatility and variety than any other form we see in the series up to now. It brought the Kaioken out from irrelevancy, is able to be mixed with Ultra Instinct and SSG, and can be scaled in power and adjusted so it’s not just an unga bunga form that increases strength. I also think it receives undue flak for “coming out of nowhere” despite just being a mastery of a previous incarnation like SSJ3, which was unveiled in the *exact* same way but gets the pass from fans for whatever reason. But again, the fandom only values design with this stuff, so blue is routinely ranked low despite it being the potato in terms of transformations and is able to make other forms/techniques viable again.

I have same opinion but for different reasons. I like manga version of ssb. Combining ssg with ssj is both genius and natural- it make this form fit in db world without feeling forced. Manga version was also earned in that way that it had to be developed- i mean at begining ssb had stamina flaws and its full power was hard to use or maintain. Once mastered it granted massive power up.

I agree and the manga handles it in such a way that people can't even complain about it overshadowing ssg (since that's the main complaint I've seen). Honestly ssb was definitely handled better than normal ssj. The fact that they had to master the form just like they did with normal ssj, but was not overshadowed immediately afterward was fire. And even after the top, they still found ways to use the form in the moro and granolah arc.

The ONLY _single_ plausible head canon that I could think of for Super Saiyan Rage (and idk if anyone has said this before) is that it's somehow a weird mutant power similar to Broly/Kale and their berserk transformations that other ordinary Saiyans don't have but that's STILL mickey because at that point why doesn't EVERY Saiyan have their own unique transformation tree? Every Saiyan has different genes/DNA right? I've done all the mental gymnastics and literally NOTHING makes sense for this trash-formation

Manga was released a month earlier. But the manga and anime are kinda like two separate adaptations of super. The manga was kinda made to hype up the anime before it became really its own thing. It isn’t until around the goku black arc that the manga began telling its own version of the arcs

The DBS Manga doesn’t have SS Full Power (green haired Broly) or Ikari in its full extent (it's simply implied in the DBS Broly Super Hero Arc recap but that's it), which makes me wonder... What if DBS basically makes SS4 "canon", but in its own unique way, namely by having Broly combine both his Ikari power and his Super Saiyan power, and evolving it further, hence becoming the ultimate natural Saiyan warrior (basically all of SS4s concepts put into Super), all while bringing in Full Power as a form in the Manga. Considering Toriyama and Toyotaro are both seemingly fans of simplistic forms, and considering Full Power's in the anime but not the Manga, I would not be shocked if they did this.
