This was actually Justin Hyuga. He’s another pro player and he mains Hwoarang. I watched his stream and we spoke for majority of it. He’s a chill dude and his Hwoarang gameplay is crazy. Shows when I get boxed into a corner that I can adapt with the best. He was my second fight of the night and I called it after I won. I’m about halfway to God right now, so maybe a session tonight and tomorrow will get me there.

Yeah I think it’s mostly nerves for them. Knowing it’s a tournament that leads to something big. It’s all about keeping your cool though and showing up when it matters. I’m learning how to adapt and fuse all my different play styles with Jin for different situations. I’m trying to be prepared for every type of situation this time around.

In comparison, the rage art is veryy tough to execute in T8 now than T7, rage art after rage art is not guaranteed and is very punishable right after missing your hit on the rage art in T8, thats why heats in my opinion is the most used feature in a battle

Lol this Alisa player just kept at it. That power crush move at the start btw is at least -12 I believe. Its probably one of the easiest ways she gets into chainsaw (Destruction) stance hence why they spam it, so neutralizing that is great for keeping a lot of the nonsense at bay. Good match

I would have to agree with that for now. Just like we talked about last night, it seems like the ranks are starting to even itself out. Good players are starting to make their way to their appropriate ranks. Right before this I fought a battle ruler Leo who knew exactly how to play. This Alisa won’t last long as a purple. This game is simplified but I’m hoping it’ll get better in due time. Also very true about the blue and gold ranks. Those are the true tekken players IMO.

@@I_XenoBlack_I It's a copy/paste of 7 with a few dozen new animations and objectively worse hit box detection and it's the same toxic 'dur hur, I tapped you once so now you get to wait 20+ seconds while I erase half your health' trash that every other fighting game does now. Someone unfamiliar with the Tekken series could *easily* be forgiven for not being able to tell 7 and 8 apart from watching short clips. And for $70 base?! Someone recently posted a clip of a slow motion round ending where someone dead ass swings right through King's chest square in the middle and it just goes through him like he's obito from naruto, yet King's simultaneous swing, which was slower, has no problem connecting, winning him the round. There's no content in this game besides spotty online, a super short story, and a joke volleyball mode. Tekken 3 at least included both of the first games in-disk, and yet Tekken 8 can't replicate PS1 functionality from decades ago? Why can't we play Tekken 1 - 3 in Tekken 8 online? That would be the easiest, low hanging fruit they could have had to pad out the game. A fully fledged Tekken Force mode was another huge missed opportunity.

A lot of players are considering this first season as a vanilla version because of all the wonky hit boxes, characters needing to be nerfed, heat smashes needing to do less damage, and a few bugs here and there. They definitely missed out on a tekken force mode and a team battle mode as well. Always glad to hear the wheels moving in players heads and seeing what could be and needs to be fixed.

Nice job man! It actually said "You Lose" at the end haha. I'm not sure why it did that! I must get into ranked myself at some point. Need to learn the movelists of the new characters a bit more! I see Reina has the highest usage rate as well! In other news, I need to be extremely careful on the job. I've been accused of being rude towards a school counsellor, a parent or two and treating young learners like dogs. It's been resolved according to the Director of Studies but I'm still a bit on edge. Been in that school once since I was told but I need to keep pressing onward. Been listened to during one particular lesson for some reason and it's quite unnerving but it won't last forever obviously. I might do an internship here in Japan at some point as well to help build professional experience and possible get IT or gaming work as well. Gaming and IT are huge over here!

Yeah I just found it odd if I'm honest. Oh I try and avoid trouble. Just didn't see it coming really! I just don't feel like I'm ready for ranked yet. Familiarity with movesets is everything before jumping in! Azucena definitely looks like an annoying character though. She's very evasive which can annoy other players. I'll jump soon enough. It's just I have other plans on my mind at the moment.

Steve I felt got nerfed a bit and his new stance is good. He’s just not as tough to deal with as he used to be. Could be because I’ve gotten used to playing against him but who knows.

@@I_XenoBlack_I It's a copy/paste of 7 with a few dozen new animations and objectively worse hit box detection and it's the same toxic 'dur hur, I tapped you once so now you get to wait 20+ seconds while I erase half your health' trash that every other fighting game does now. Someone unfamiliar with the Tekken series could *easily* be forgiven for not being able to tell 7 and 8 apart from watching short clips. And for $70 base?! Someone recently posted a clip of a slow motion round ending where someone dead ass swings right through King's chest square in the middle and it just goes through him like he's obito from naruto, yet King's simultaneous swing, which was slower, has no problem connecting, winning him the round. There's no content in this game besides spotty online, a super short story, and a joke volleyball mode. Tekken 3 at least included both of the first games in-disk, and yet Tekken 8 can't replicate PS1 functionality from decades ago? Why can't we play Tekken 1 - 3 in Tekken 8 online? That would be the easiest, low hanging fruit they could have had to pad out the game. A fully fledged Tekken Force mode was another huge missed opportunity.

A lot of players are considering this first season as a vanilla version because of all the wonky hit boxes, characters needing to be nerfed, heat smashes needing to do less damage, and a few bugs here and there. They definitely missed out on a tekken force mode and a team battle mode as well. Always glad to hear the wheels moving in players heads and seeing what could be and needs to be fixed.

LOL those are good characters to do that. I’d add Reina as well just because I feel like those players are just mashing the punch buttons when I play them, lol. Only players who get ki charged are ones who initiate it first against me.

I’ve never used it before. I know how it works but players who are arrogant when you beat them after taunting feels that much more satisfying. I get it though, if it gets to bad I might just slap it on.

Lilis flips are easy for me to deal with. Reina on the other hand once she gets going is hard to find the right opening. So I’ve just been spacing her out and whiff launching her on reaction.

Nice job man! It actually said "You Lose" at the end haha. I'm not sure why it did that! I must get into ranked myself at some point. Need to learn the movelists of the new characters a bit more! I see Reina has the highest usage rate as well! In other news, I need to be extremely careful on the job. I've been accused of being rude towards a school counsellor, a parent or two and treating young learners like dogs. It's been resolved according to the Director of Studies but I'm still a bit on edge. Been in that school once since I was told but I need to keep pressing onward. Been listened to during one particular lesson for some reason and it's quite unnerving but it won't last forever obviously. I might do an internship here in Japan at some point as well to help build professional experience and possible get IT or gaming work as well. Gaming and IT are huge over here!
Idk it gets a little janky at times. Also just take it a day at a time! Can’t be getting in trouble after all you’ve done to get there! I’m surprised you haven’t jumped in yet. Azucena had given me more trouble than Reina or Victor. She’s really fast and has a lot of annoying moves.
Yeah I just found it odd if I'm honest. Oh I try and avoid trouble. Just didn't see it coming really! I just don't feel like I'm ready for ranked yet. Familiarity with movesets is everything before jumping in! Azucena definitely looks like an annoying character though. She's very evasive which can annoy other players. I'll jump soon enough. It's just I have other plans on my mind at the moment.
Victor, Bryan, Dragonuv and Reina. All top tier characters that are a problem.
Jun and Feng are pretty crazy as well.
