    I wouldn’t ride PBR.. I would’ve loved it in 96 & 97 but I’d want no part of it now. I qualified for NCA finals in 96 & 97. The thing that I liked about bull riding was you could blame it on nobody but yourself basically if things didn’t work out. I don’t like having to depend on anyone else. I don’t like the Teams deal; which seems like where it’s heading. I’m from Oakdale LA & kin to Leslie Doyle, got put in a coma at the end of 97 my rookie year in the PRCA. Definitely enjoyed watching Cody & JW!

    Are bullriders becoming just entertainment for the fans now, Pbr is doing ufc and kid rock crap now, its no longer about bullriding, Fans no longer are being taught about bullriding, its all about how entertained can we make it for the fans, pretty soon between buck outs their gonna be doing some kinda magic act , so fans dont get bored while they wait for the chute gates to open

  • @travishendrix7026
    @travishendrix70264 ай бұрын

    We saw this coming. They have taken the Cowboy out of the sport to try to go mainstream. Letting outsiders put their names as stock contractors. Riders who cant saddle a horse. The leadership in the PBR think they are bigger and more important than the riders. Bullriding does not need a Jerry Jones. Great match ups of rank bulls and top riders is enough. 2 Champs are enough. One Rider a season and one bull a season. My last Rodeo was in Kansas City in 2001. Cody, you were up there too.

    We were talking crap behind the chutes one night and Pete overheard us. We were 17 ,18 year Olds. Pete walked over . Threw a rope over a loaded bull in tennis shoes and a ball cap. Called for him and beat the bull to death. Told us. " It's not about the form. It's about the horn". That was 35 years ago.

    Bonnor Bolton you should have been getting on bulls instead of hanging out in Hollywood at the Sun Bar getting your picture taken & maybe you might have made more money at it & possibly be a World Champ. You ain't no Cowboy. Cowboys don't complain & make excuses they do something about it.Bonnor Bull Riding didn't make you famous it was your Hollywood stuff that gets you around.

    I'm so very glad I found you and these great videos. Lots I could say, but warmed my heart just to hear you mention Code Blue. I so loved that bull, and will never forget his love of waffles. But on another note, after years of being a PBR fan, the changes by having those big companies making decisions was a turn off. After Bushwack was retired, and the next year at the Finals saw what a rider did to Roy in the chute, turned my stomach. I was there looking down at the chute, so not heresay. Julio is a friend of mine, and I'm glad now he's with the PRCA. But thank you for all the information you're giving and believe me, I'm letting people know about your show.

    My dad and sister rode bulls when I was s kid and I've been a fan all my life but I'm just now gettin' into the business side of the rodeo world. I'm in my second year at LSU going for a Sports Administration degree and I appreciate y'all having these conversations. It really means a lot to hear how the people who are competing and making a living off of this sport view and feel about the world of rodeo. I hope to help make some real changes in the future for the industry of rodeo and bull riding that cater more to the athletes and the individual professionals that help make these events happen.
