Paul, this is one of my very favourite films of all time. Thanks once again. What an AMAZING song choice, my friend. Jeff Costello is one of the coolest movie characters of all time. A real badass. Alain Delon only starred in bangers during the 60s, from 'Plein Soleil' (1960) to La Piscine(1969). You could definetly do something using the images of 'Les Aventuriers' by Robert Enrico, it's my mom's favourite film.

Totally cool! This movie is a masterpiece, never get tired of watching it. Another incredibly scored video! Hey Paul can you do a video using footage of the atmospheric female JD gang 'Teenage Doll' from 1957? I think it's a great way for the channel to do a little homage on the great Roger Corman who passed away recently. He's one of my main inspirations to start making no budget films, i got really sad when i've got the news of his passing.

Thanks for fulfilling yet another request, my friend. You absolutely nailed it with this edit, the selection of the movie's best shots with the wild rockabilly music, loved the fast cuts and the addition of the black and white scenes of Robert Gordon dancing with the girl, just pure perfection. It works better as a trailer for the movie than the original trailer, for sure. I consider this movie a rockabilly masterpiece, the way it depicts life on the road as it is, the silence, the contrast of the hours of boredom that you try to kill with some random thing, and the fun, the long, long hours searching for motorcycle parts and repairing... it reminds me of the vibe of the motorcycle trips I used to take with my late uncle. Thank you so much for this piece of art. It's definitely my new favorite video on the channel.
@Spratmac8Ай бұрын
Cheers Fernando! Thank you for your kind words. I tried it with a couple of other tracks, but they didn't quite capture the mood, before I settled on Jesse Lee Turner. I think you're right about the film, especially what you say about the silence and boredom, interspersed with periods of intense action. In that way it echoes the western genre - tracking wide open plains for days on end, punctuated with gun fights. I thought Robert Gordon did a great job. I love the craziness he conjured up when he shot up the dinner.
@fernandomaron87Ай бұрын
@@Spratmac8 Awesome! It's indeed almost a neo western. I also thought Robert absolutely killed it! Specially for being his first and only role as an actor if i'm not mistaken. You're right, the scene where he shoots up the bottles is remarkable, he comes up as he true psycho self after being contained the whole time up to that. He always seemed like a cool, respectful guy in real life, a gentleman, so seeing him playing Davies was truly a threat and a great addiction to his legacy on rockabilly culture.
@fernandomaron87Ай бұрын
@@Spratmac8 Just checked on imdb and The Loveless is actually his second film role! He had played a character named "The Killer" in a 1976 movie called Unmade Beds also starring Debby Harry as character named "Blondie" lol

Paul, what an amazing video. You really have a knack for picking the perfect rockabilly song to go with the perfect visuals. I'm a big fan of this movie, Marianne's beauty is truly off the charts. The music blends perfectly with the images of her looking all gorgeous in leather riding a motorcycle, interspersed with scenes of the band. It's just perfect.

Thanks my friend! I am pleased you enjoyed the combination of French 60s' cinema and gritty British neo-rockabilly! I had had the track in mind for a while, but hadn't had any luck finding suitable video - then Marianne crashed the party!
