  I wish I could do that. I've tried but I've had so many horse related "wrecks" & injuries that my neck & shoulders don't work like they should. My life has been one of, "improvise & overcome"; most of the time I have to settle for less than perfection; but I have learned to find peace in my imperfections.

  That's pretty good but I'm afraid his training as incomplete without hostile Indians. And the next test is tracking skills. Keep in mind yes I am an armchair mountain Man and tracker, most of what I've learned was from hunting magazines and tracking as well putting what I read to good use. But I am far from a Jim Bridger.

  Depends on the mule; most mules are smooth to ride but going away from the barn they don't seem to want to walk out as fast as a horse, you feel like you are constantly prompting them to walk faster just to keep up with the horses.

  No legal access to Lake. Lake is on State owned property; they are open daily but you have to access through their front gate. Not sure about the fishing.

  I always wondered if a person ever used a mule in a rodeo against horses or if a person could steer wrestle off of a mule ??? I loved your story and I know you miss your mules they were beautiful mules God bless you ......

  You are right Carry These types of properties are rarely offered for Sale; they are typically handed down from generation to generation. Very sad to see this happening. Makes me sick, my aunt would love the video you did. I would like to have this video.

  My friend, just stumbled across this video ...And as I opened a Christmas present from my daughter this year that was a penciled drawing of one of my best and finest memories of an ole long ear from days past and the Colorado hunting trips together ...When watching this great video ... it brought all those emotions back again ... thanks for sharing and may God bless ...
