Great movie. Doc by far my favorite character. When Ringo says I'll put you out of your misery, doc calmly says, say when. Great played character

We needed more Doc Holliday in Tombstone. Tombstone is trying to do so much and give time to so many unnecessary characters that it feels rushed, unfocused, and incomplete.

Kurt Russell took the reins and made Tombstone an absolute classic. But the conflict between Biehn & Kilmer's characters was UNFORSEEN BRIILIANCE. Kevin Costner's shoddy vision of this movie was never remorsed or appreciated. BTW, I tried doing Biehn's gun-twirling trick and shot myself in the foot. Just kidding! Don't try making movies at home, kids. NOT!

That moment he's talking about is when he realizes there's no getting out of the fight...he processes that for a second, then lets the crazy take over and he goes for it, knowing he can't beat Doc. That momentary flash of the crazy going across his face is priceless. Biehn is right, that's a hell of an acting job right there. Doc was definitely his huckleberry, at least in this film.

A flawless performance by Val. Talk of inhabiting a character and bringing them to life. One of the great, understated performances I have seen. Tombstone had a truly magnificent cast, but without Val Kilmer's Doc Holliday, there is no movie.

For those uneducated people complaining about Oscar snub. ... the Georgia accent was so off that Val was made fun of and his performance wasn't taken seriously

I agree. He got all the pronunciations of the words right, but his voice just didn't have that "quality" that an authentic Southern accent would. It sounded like an educated guy from California using Southern dialect. Plus he used an affected voice to do it with, instead of his own....like he was imitating Huckleberry Hound.
