I want to do this on a white model 3 but I'm thinking of leaving a bit of the vinyl attached on the panel so that it covers the gap between the headlight and the body panel. Do you think it's a good idea?

I think a lot of buyers are unaware of the existence of the boost update. It doesn't turn the car into a performance model, but that's a good thing for many, maybe most, buyers of a Model 3. At least I think the LR is stiff enough as it is, and the tyre costs sufficiently high even with 18 inch rims..! $2000 is a helluvalot less than you pay to step up from LR to Perf, and arguably results in an overall better car for most people.
@dojohansen123 Жыл бұрын
Having said this I immediately realize if this situation changes, and everyone becomes aware of the existence of the boost update, and it starts to seriously cannibalize sales of the Perf, then Tesla will of course remove the option or price it very differently. Of course I may well be wrong in thinking the boosted LR is a more attractive car, maybe Perf buyers are much more hardcore than me, or maybe they are just willing to suffer for the street cred (as they will on bad roads). But as long as it doesn't cannibalize Perf sales too much, Tesla will of course want to pocket an additional $2k at zero extra cost from an automated buying and updating process. So maybe we shouldn't tell anyone. :)
