This was the group that forced me to pay attention to the drumming, it was that in your face and such an impressive part of all their songs. I just never realized how complicated the drummer could make his part. I still like to listen to Lucky Man for Carl's drumming. But, primarily for Greg's voice. Like a blanket wrapping you up in his words. And that synth...and Keith.

This was their last ‘great’ tour. Already on this tour, Emerson’s tendinitis was noticeable. Not in his playing so much as in his hand motions when not playing. And Lake was still fit enough to rock out a bit; he’d not yet become the fat guy who could no longer sing. So I’m glad to have seen them twice on that tour, and glad that video of the tour is available.

I’m from San Antonio and I was 15 yrs old when I first saw them. I was in the first row they were on the brain salad surgery tour. It was so amazing that even to this day I can still see them. Mr. Lake was completely mesmerizing well all three of them were, but I guess because I was right in front of him. To me besides yes they were the best prog band who ever existed. Oh! Rush too. By the way the venue they played don’t even exist anymore. I’m 65 now. Thank you all.

Guitar solo in original "Go Down Gamblin' " by David Clayton Thomas was more musical than the rapid licks in this version by DeBari, which were only faintly carried melody. Quick licks are impressive for what they are when done well, but I for one don't find most of them melodic. Yet, terrific offering overall by the group and the one and only Mr. David Clayton Thomas !

John Mayall - Ohne Filter, 1988. Concert Location, Baden-Baden is a spa town in southwestern Germany’s Black Forest, near the border with France. Its thermal baths led to fame as a fashionable 19th-century resort. Alongside the Oos River, park-lined Lichtentaler Allee is the town’s central promenade. The Kurhaus complex (1824) houses the elegant, Versailles-inspired Spielbank (casino). Its Trinkhalle has a loggia decorated with frescoes and a mineral-water fountain.

Drum disaster. He’s overplaying and not in a fast clean time. Ginger is always this slow, behind the time thing. Works in rock, but not in jazz
