Great lesson. I was having trouble getting that true country sound on my stratocaster and telecaster guitars.
Awesome, informative and detailed information and instructions without woffle. You get straight to the point and keep on track. Excellent work. Thank you
my guitar sounds acoustic 😭😭😭😭
This is great stuff! I'm in my 60s and have been playing about a year. I've been trying to master that surf rundown sound. I keep some structured practice and learning, but also tend to go off on occasional tangents. Now i can dig a bit deeper into surf sound.
What triad chords is this style called? These chords are barre chords or open chords but what are they called
Hi! I don't want to shamelessly plug my song. But I wanted to share it with y'all. Frusciante and the Chili Peppers has changed my life got me off drugs and influenced me to play guitar and start a band. We just launched our first music video which is heavily inspired by "Give it Away". I hope you like it! kzread.info/dash/bejne/fpl8mdVsiMe7ZM4.html
Which song did John Frusciante use this for?
snow (hey oh)
Nice work. Looks a little more robust than the Go!
Iti is impossible to see sometimes whether you are bending10 11 or 12.due to the covering fingers... and also whether it is E, B or G sometimes. Also, when you describe the notes played, sometimes you only describe 2, rather than 3,,,, otherwise terrific.
I hate your ads!
Excellent lesson! What make and model of guitar is that? Love the shape and sound...
It is a Collings C10. Parlor size acoustic. Glad you like the sound and the lesson!
I played piano when I was little .. I so want to be able to learn the guitar because I love the sound and the fact that I can carry it with me and play anywhere. I bought a used ovation a couple years ago and picked it up today out of the case . I’m guilty of wanting to be tech and I’m thrilled to follow Gary’s beginner lessons using my ear ! So now to practice the C and D 😊 Thank you for caring to share with all of us

You’re a great teacher!
Very nice
Great lessons!! You mentioned the wrong fret landing on the 9th I believe lol but easy to figure out...
That cabsim simply must be off when going direct to the amp...sure, its everyone's taste and ears to decide, but damn..even if passable by somehow neutral amp setting, it is so distant and blankety boomy with it on and so much better without cabsim, when using areal cab...its great that FR v2 finally can defeat it
@GuitarTricks thanks so much for everything if i could ask any question i wanna ask do u have any advice for getting finger movement synchronized. Time is everything ik this, i play 4+ hours a day and i picked up the guitar again last year in May and now im doing gigs with my drummer (oldest friend) we are 23 and 24 and we make eachother better and have good chemistry our playing gets better the more we play live and rehearse together. But by no means do i consider myself a "good guitar player" i can improvise well with my drummer and we put out alot of noise for a three piece. I just cant ever play enough where i want to be now its just a matter of more time years till my speed is where i would like it to be. Is there any exercises i should focus some of my time that’ll help with my soloing fingerwork?
Holy cow. As a beginner guitarist who knows VERY basic tab, this helped so much and answered most questions I had. Thank you SO much! :)
your tone sold me on it! thanks!
Didnt realise how old this was until he said myspace
Thank you, very helpful video.
Great stuff. An amazing teacher.
Great lesson. Wonderful stuff.
Sage advice and wisdoms.
Great stuff. This is the way you do it.
He is amazing. Just what I needed after many years of wondering how to proceed.
This is great stuff. Thanks for this
Great lesson. Really like the high production, multiple cameras, quality mics etc.
Thanks for using a strat, I always feared I hosed myself not buying a tele!
Great review, currently considering this pedal. I also have a G&L Fullerton Legacy in that exact same color. Had some questions and comments. 1) 3:45 are you playing minor pentatonic in B? 2) G&L Strap lock buttons are small detail that I think exceeds the standard strap button. I left them instead of the locking ones. 3) Do you think a G&L Legacy gets that Strat nasal sound closer with a Fender-type clean amp? I'm using a Marshall Origin 20c and although it works, I was reconsidering switching for an Orange.
Is that a metal pick?
Gracias dolape
Good lick. Thanks
Not a lot of views on this video I’m surprised. Ive just started with Gutair and even though I’ve given up in the past I’ve been dedicated to learning this year. Made a lot of progress and will be checking back in on this channel for more 👍
Love this lesson. Hope we see more videos from you.
I dont know what is g or anything like that on guitar but i learned that song u playing just hearing that
Awesome just what I needed.
This is an excellent video. For those who need verbalization of where to put your fingers, this video is educational because it encourages evolution from a mechanical way of thinking to an intuitive way of thinking based on intervals in a key. In this case, the key of A.
my amp onlyhas three knobes, tone, volumn and OD
To quote The Princess Bride, about [technocrat]: "I don't think it means what you think it means."
Gary, you made a short clip in the past that gave older guitar players the advice to spend most of our time learning and playing songs. You went on to say it was ok to learn technical stuff but, focus on songs. Well, that is probably the best advice I have ever received. Thank you Gary!
Love it
any links, I was liking the start of the lesson
Awesome! Thanks!...Oh but how I hate the Barr F Chord! Yeeks lol
Firstly, congratulations on a superb learning platform.....does anyone have a view on older newbies? I'm just starting at 58 years old, am I likely to face significant difficulties in developing this dexterity??
This explanation was Very good. Thank you so much.
