I committed to watching the entire video out of appreciation for the man, and all those like him. Thank you!
Loving these videos. I agree with trying something new and move the edges. I wasn't impressed with the forges on the market so I just redesigned my own little ribbon burners, almost copied Mr. Spencer's treadle hammer but went with a rarer guillotine version with interesting results. Never stop learning.
Sadly, the sound drops out at 1 hour and 18 minutes into the video and doesn't come back. Picture freezes at 1:35 for the rest of the video.
I subbed and look forward to checking out your vids. Black bear forge is how i found your channel, so thanks to him. Thanks for the vid, i have used coal, from a home made forge i used, and made a few knives. Now i use propane and enjoy making tools for the wilderness and around camp.
What a treasure
What a treat watching this master work. Thank you for posting this.
I'll never un-see the leaf.
Great teacher and as a former horse owner I appreciate explaining what I never new about shoeing.
the video quality was poor but the content was excellent!
great demo!!!
Wow, Horses how I love my Horses, I got my Lower back injured way back in 1971, shewing Horses became a tough job!
Really enjoy Jennifer's demo's. Very knowledgeable and entertaining!
I can't find Video 5. Great series and so glad that you shared this!!!

Peter Ross has high wisdom and simplicity. These videos contain valuable information for anyone who is really interested in the work and forging of iron and steel. Thanks for making all this available... Thank you very much!
Thank you very much!
"...so you make crude parts that assemble well..." Thank you very much!
There is a huge amount of information in these 3 video’s. Wonderful stuff.
One of the most informative KZread videos I’ve seen thank you for sharing
Too bad the equipment he is using is substandard. That anvil is incredibly noisy; Is loose and the base is wandering all over the shop. This school needs a class on how to maintain tools exc.
Great video.. thanks for sharing it.
I could watch this guy forge all day! Great demo/teaching.
Excellent demonstration on compass forging. Thanks
The fact that Mark Aspery uses a Brent Bailey hammer says volumes about the quality of a Bailey hammer.
Good stories! Lmao!
I guess if you don’t want to just make shit that looks cool, it’s good to have all these stories and reasons and explanations.
Way to much story
Clay spencer men miserable
I glad you posted all these videos. I have alot of watching I need to do! 😁👍
Appreciate the person doing this recording and publication.
Great conference, great smith, great sense of humor. Thank you for sharing this with, among others, a corsican fellow blacksmith.
Watching the legendary Peter Ross demonstrating, on youtube, on his chair, on the other side of the planet, 5 years later. What a time to be alive, thank you for sharing
I'd like to thank Rocky Mountain Smiths for making these video's available. An amazing gift. Thank you to all who gave their time to produce them as well.
What a happy surprise to stumble on this video. Like many others I suppose, I’m acquainted with the work of Peter Ross from his guest appearances with Roy Underhill on The Woodwright’s Shop (PBS). Peter is as erudite and entertaining as he is skilled at his craft.
Not really watchable
Sound sucks
Thanks so much for these videos, they are an invaluable resource! One small note though: I believe his name is spelled "Aspery".
Good teacher
Fantastic, even if it is hard to make out, Mr. Whitaker is a joy to watch and listen to. You can learn from him by osmosis I believe and the love for smithing can be felt deeply; provoking me to the anvil and fire. Thank you.
No sound?
Rocky Mountain smiths. Thank you so much for your generosity to share these videos. These are the best teaching videos I have ever seen. I hope that other clubs could also put their videos on line also. Blessings to your club .
The audio was very low but otherwise I think the condensing/editing went pretty well. In person a 3 hour demo is fine, but on KZread 30 minutes is usually max.
audio is very low but I can watch John S make anything all day long!
You go this loaded faster than I thought.
I really love these videos. Thank you for posting them!
Power hammer forge-weld?
