The People's Commission into the Housing Crisis is an important inquiry into how the shortage of affordable housing impacts vulnerable groups, including older women. We appreciate everyone who gave testimony and hope that decision makers will take the bold steps to improve the situation. Nobody should have to call their Mazda or a park bench home.

More men are homeless than women, WHY is everybody's homeless focusing so much on homeless women?

Australia has the most overpriced Real Estate in the World. This has happened as a direct result of Policies from both the Left and the Right. It has not happened because of the Free Market. The Government needs to simply release more land and reduce Immigration. This is a very easy problem to solve. The problem is there is no Political will to make housing affordable.

The problem is that most Politicians own investment properties. They want their properties to go up in value and they want rents to increase. That is why there has been policy after policy that has caused houses and rents to increase.

It is not Rocket Science we need to slow down the rates of Immigration until the Rental Shortage is fixed.

Thank God we have Women with heart in so many of our states... I hope I live long enough to see this in State and Federal Government.

clearly they have no clue...i understand they want to help but as someone homeless 10 years and now housed as a project zero client it is not the housing ....there are so many other issues....senior inspector matt nairne is trying to keep me housed as he understands that to simply be shoved into housing is not the solution as some of us were homeless so long we no longer fit back into society...i myself am greiving the loss of all i learned and friendships i developed on the streets...they became my family...so many homeless are on welfare and simple things like...we were so used to having our paycheck to survive and get what we needed ,we didnt have the necessities but we had the luxurys...now i have huge bills,i have to shopp, rent, meds,i have spoken to so many housed under project zero who say they cant even afford their smokes anymore...we are not working people and have only our welfare...i understand some will say well thats what everyone else has to do but out on the streets its tough to survive so so many turned to alcohol or drugs...do you know what the body does when you have an addiction ...it screams out for its fix...so many who get housed will return to the street simply because they dont want to quit as it will put them through a living hell until the need passes...then there is the isolation...ive found most of my old friends moved on...they are not my friends anymore and now housed even my homeless friends look at me differently...there are so so many issues...

Great work! The Ex-Servicemen of Australia also have been voicing their concern that Australia wastes far too much money on Corrupt leaders in poor nations which never gets to its target but fills the pockets of politicians instead. (I have been there, known it to happen). The last TRY was NRAS, but, it cut out after a few short years and the renters ended up out on the street or in garages instead, coz the rents still were way too high to afford. It was really Money for the Developers, not a long-term solution! - ALSO, Fed Govt, Cease taking Citizens Public Housing away from the States and handing them over to Immigrants! - Use the method which worked in the 1950's! Sparse and very basic small Army huts were converted to living flatettes... and migrants were only given food and bus/rail vouchers to find work ... NO MONEY, NO Social Service payments! Basic medical care on base... AND THE MIGRANTS FOUND WORK! - If they didn't, they had to return to where they came from! NO SPONGING OFF THE SYSTEM... like many refugees are doing, not trying hard to learn English, so they can stay "under the coconut tree". (Old New Guinea saying...)
