Such a beautiful area, definitely want to make my way north at some point.
I was looking at them today at a dealership.. thanks for the video. Shame on Airstream
Can I ask which dealership you are using to repair your Rangeline? We bought ours in Airdrie. It's there again for more repairs.
@@loranking9103 we actually go to grande prairie because AIRDRIE was so so bad for service. That is where we bought it also.
@@darcyandtess haha...I was hoping you were going to say Kelowna.
@@loranking9103 hahaha too funny. Well I work up in Grande Prairie so it worked out like that. I heard Langley is really good service.
I hope you saved the beach glass! Beautiful!
We defiantly saved some! ❤️
WOW! Big bucks for a premium van and you were SO challenged! Today, I saw this van, and it is a TOTAL copy of what I built in 2019 on my 2018 cargo van. Hearing your problems, I'm SO glad I built my own, but I had a van conversion shop and it took 9 months. A dealer wanted me to build vans for them and I declined. Just because I didn't want to rely on employees and I'm retired. Honestly there are SO many systems with so little space. Ask then to reimburse you for you 7 months payments. Take them to small claims court if they don't. They delivered a defective product. Write a paper letter to the Airstream President and paper and email copy your dealer.
@@johnwhite362 next time we are definitely going to build our own or have someone custom build it who knows what they are doing. Learned our lesson the hard way. We will look into all of that, thank you for the recommendations, we weren’t really sure what to do at this point.
My dog goes basllistic when I slow down. He thinks I getting out. Sleeps the whole time. Don’t slow down though 😂😂😂😂😂
@@plants4thewin hahaha have to take some corners slow in this van so they get excited all the time
1:35 that's called "Stepford wives" syndrome.
@@plutoplatters ooh I didn’t know there was a name for that!!
make sure when you get the windshield replaced that rubber seal at the base of the windshield is tight against the window. If not water will leak into the top of the engine. Had mine done and they broke the clips for the seal.
Thanks for mentioning it! We do need a new windshield pretty soon.
did you have a chance to check out a Panoramic from Woodys?
Unfortunately we didn’t even know they were a brand until we had bought the rangeline. The 2024s look pretty wicked. The simplicity of the rangeline is what drove us to it and what we thought was airstream quality. There are so many good things on each of them that we like. However the propane system we don’t want, built in speakers are a waste in our opinion, tv mount we will never use and a few more things. But I’d imagine the quality of the panoramic is higher.
Just remember that the ProMaster is a Ram, not a Dodge.
lol I always forget!!! Like I know it’s a ram but forget to say it like that.
Hello from New Mexico---it’s always windy here!!
We will cross it off our list! LOL jk I want to go to see breaking bad spots !
@@darcyandtess --big state! They actually have maps to show you where everything is in ABQ. We are 4.5 hours away, Carlsbad Caverns. We have a 23ft Safari named Sylvia.
Enjoyed the video, glad to hear your RL is functional. The Heavy traffic in Phoenix is due to all the snow birds, mostly from Canada. lol.
We would stay down there all winter if we could so I don’t blame the other Canadians😂
I had to break out google to figure out what’s a skin walker 😂 love the night slo-mo scene! Welcome back!
The desert was so peaceful with all of the stars at night so we got some good shots. And you have to watch out for those skin walkers!😉Thanks for watching!!
"Skin walkers" live in some human's brains.
Thank you for sharing..so we don't have to go through those horrible experiences!!
Absolutely!! Hope you find something amazing
Haven’t seen you in a while. Come back 😊
We are almost back! 2 videos almost locked and loaded! Thanks for hanging in there.
Don't hold back guys. Tell us what really happened. Jesus Mary and Joseph. Good luck trying to sell this unit.
Once all the problems are gone it should be worth more right???? 😅
Love the snow videos.
5/27/24= how could airstream look at themselves in the mirror?? how could there be so many nightmare issues? panoramic may be the way to go?
Sorry for the late reply, we somehow missed seeing your comment! I honestly don’t know how anyone from airstream can feel good about promoting these RVs either. It’s upended our van life and made us change our lifestyle completely. If we wouldn’t lose so much money on a trade in we would probably look into other vans.
Very disappointed I thought I found my retirement van U would think for price and Co. Name they would hire so competent people might look somewhere else. Thank you great job hope they give u a new ride
They haven’t done anything for us unfortunately, so we will continue to tell as many people as we can so they don’t have the same problems.
I remember when the Rangeline model was first announced; I was absolutely enamored with it! Hearing your honest feedback is very helpful and a good reminder that the FIRST couple of versions of a thing are almost never going to be the BEST version of that thing. I am a big believer in waiting for version 3.0 of whatever it is; v3.0 is usually well developed enough to have most of the bugs worked out of it, but not yet so overworked as to have bloatware (aka junky stuff you don’t really need) tacked on to it. Thank you for sharing your journey. Safe travels to you and your pups!
We were very excited when they first released the specs for these too. And we loved our van until everything stopped working. It’s nice when it does work but now we are experiencing even more issues so I don’t even think I would be brave enough to buy another airstream down the road.😅 Thanks for watching!!
New follower here. Y’all look fun so far! Definitely need a big freaking bus for the fam and I. I’d love to do what y’all are doing. 🥰😊 And btw, hello! 👋🏼
Hi! Thanks for following on our journey we sure appreciate it!🤗 I never thought we would ever be doing vanlife either but here we are!! You better start looking for a bus😉
I love the way you help the doggies 🐶 🐩 🐕
Thanks🥰 they just need a little moral support sometimes.
Awesome Arizona Views.....Thanks for the video!!
Thanks for another great video. Looks like the prickly pear cactus froze or aged out. We like to call the small ultra lite aircraft “Mosquitoes”.
We sure prefer your mosquitoes to ours!
Awesome! I hope the RL is behaving and you’re enjoying it. I’ve had my ‘24 two weeks so far🎉
The way things are going so far we will have an updated van issues in no time😅
😢that means things are going well. For now. 💪
My wife and I were very close to purchasing one when the Rangline first came out. We are both nurses and were planning on travel nursing with this unit. After doing some research we began seeing a pattern of problems and decided to wait until the "Beta Testing", was complete. It has been several years now and you would think they would have a lot of issues fixed or redesigned, although they have fixed some issue it seems it's a slower process than neccessary. Disappointing from an Airstream standpoint.
We actually just discovered more fun issues! We drove down a gravel road and dust came swirling in at an alarming rate! Every point where they go in or out of the vehicle for utilities is a gaping hole.
Thor is so bad with their quality, so many people complain about their B vans .
It's been frustrating. More problems are coming too!
You bought your Ragline in CANADA!!!?
We live in Canada, so yes we bought it here😅
REFUND!!
Sadly this is pretty standard for a Thor product these days. So many corners cut in the production
Yeah, we learned the hard way. Next van will be a custom build!😅
couple of recommendations... list / number all the issues you have. This reads as a life update video, but from the title it sounded like you wanted to do an information video. If youre going to talk about the an annoyance, show us. @13:36 isan example. Why did youshow other issues, but this one is not shown on screen? The number of video cuts while you guys are talking is really irritating.
Thank you for the recommendations we will definitely keep them in mind in future videos. We only started this channel last summer and then our van spent seven months in the shop and this was our first trip this year so we are out of practice and are still learning. We only have 300 subscribers and are in no way professionals but we are trying and appreciate your constructive criticism. This was our first video of this type as normally they are daily vlogs, so I guess we didn’t do too well.
Don't edit a thing ! This video is perfect. You're very real.
@@gregoire8376 thank you!
Sounds so familiar. Mine also is currently working, hopefully that continues to be the case for both of us.
Don’t jinx it!😂 I’m glad they got your issues sorted out too.
Airstream quality went way down as they were bought out by Thor Industries. Thor is all about cutting their costs at the expense of the customer. Go look at a Airstream trailer or van from years back. Way better care and materials were used before they buy out.....
We haven’t heard too many good things about any brand new camper vans or trailers lately. Seems like they always have some issues. Definitely everyone trying to cut costs.
This is false. While quality has definitely decreased, it’s not due to Thor ownership. Thor bought Airstream in 1980
Submitted an application for a 2024 Rangeline today. Your video is helpful for sure.
Awesome! We wish you better luck with your 2024! Thanks for watching😁
RUN. FAST. Look at a Pleasure Way instead !!!!
This is why I built my own van, sucks they are selling lemons 🍋
One day we hope to do a custom build. Probably have a company build it though 😅 We thought we would be safe going with Airstream but we learned a hard lesson. They don’t build them like they used to!
i have been on a journey to buy a van conversion and have been following you guys for a while. i discovered that i can build my own (actually hire someone) to do a custom van build for less $$ than purchasing a new Ridgline, and customize it to my liking. It seems evident that airstream goofed on the first attempt at the Ridgline. I am assuming that they are listening to their customers and have made some changes on the new models. That being said, the Ram Chassis is a lot cheaper than the Mercedes and front while drive is not ideal for my application. That being said, this unit as built is probably a bit overpriced for the quality that you received. Thanks so much for your candour and honesty.
The Mercedes chassis is narrower and it’s harder to get maintenance done whereas the Ram can go to any Dodge dealership which influenced our decision as well as the price difference. We would absolutely love to build our own one day or have a custom build done by someone but our time restraints didn’t allow it and we thought the Rangeline would check all the boxes of everything we wanted and it did until nothing worked haha. Thanks for following and keeping up with us we really appreciate it!!
@@darcyandtess There is no doubt that the Promaster has the best interior size for a van build. Wider, and less angles which makes the living space bigger and more open. It is also less $$. Although the Mercedes is narrower, we decided that we needed to go 4x4 since we lice in Canada, drive 4 seasons and . . . we are skiers. It's also true that there are probably about 10x more Ram service shops than Mercedes, but the Sprinter only needs one scheduled service per year, and i was able to negotiate the first 3 years of service for free . . .I also live in a large metropolitan area where I am lucky to have a few Sprinter dealers near me. I will continue to follow you as i am still able to learn a lot from your experiences. Have fun and stay safe.
All those problems are beyond excusable! I feel for you. Thanks for this info.
Here is hoping they are all in the past and everything continues to work from now on🤞Thanks for watching!
Engine Not Charging Battery Wiring Issues Video: kzread.info/head/PL4f86rqefBUnZOdTX9YsKbyNvlAOl3uyB&si=Gx2uDHBxUHJEQwCf
We just ordered ours. We pick it up in two days. Thanks for video to get us excited.
Yay! Welcome to the Rangeline Family!
The ProMaster isn't available as a stock passenger van, so your van was most likely an empty window van before it was converted by Airstream. There are Ram ProMaster window vans that do get converted by third party companies into passenger vans.
We didn’t know that! Just assumed I guess. Thanks for the info.
@@darcyandtess You're welcome!
Glad you’re back 👏
Thanks Allan! We are glad too!
Do you have the stock tires on or did you swap out for some all terrain?
Yessir! We have the Falken Wild peaks! They are amazing compared to the stock tires.
@@darcyandtess thank you for sharing. We bought a 2024 Rangeline back in September and have enjoyed it but going off pavement just a few times I realize that the stock tires are not good. Thinking about adding the ladder, spare tire and box from Rover Vans.
Yeah the stock tires are pretty bad. We are thinking of the Aluminess racks.
@@darcyandtess awesome. Keep the videos coming. We enjoy watching you both explore together. All the best!
I just ordered the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W All season. LT225/75R16. This is what you have, correct? Thanks again.
Hellooou from Sydney Australia, you guys should come over here and van life around the land down under 😊
One day! If we could get a few months off we would! Who would be the best to rent one from?
Great video!! Gotta love the front end rumble when the anti-sway kicks in because of wind gusts. Also, you reminded me to look out the window to check and see if my outside dump valve light is on. Lol
Was it on??? The anti sway thing is wild .
It was off, it’s on about half the time.
How has the Rangeline been since you’ve had your issues fixed? Have you been problem free? And how is the temperature inside the van in the cold climate. Wanting to buy a 2024
We were in -15Celsius and the floor stays chilly but the heater puts out quite a bit of heat and during the night we got too warm in the bed and ended up turning the heat down a bit even. The tank sensors still seem finicky still but we are still testing everything else but it seems to be good. Knock on wood haha.
👍
You don’t have the std suspension ? You seem so close to hit your generator !
The 2024 has a different suspension than ours (2023). We haven’t had issues with clearance on the generator but we did scrape the running boards underneath.
Where should we go next?
Love the drone shots!
Glad you like them!
Awesome video
Thanks! 🙏 appreciate you!
