I am so sad that you didn't like Just for the summer. I am happy that you like A Season for setting fires that one was interesting. lol Love that you annotated it! You have beautiful areas. Such a downfall of living in the city. So excited to read Just Lovers with you guys. Loving the fic so much. Plan is to try and finish Measure of a Man first and then Just lovers.

I highly recommend reading book 8.5 before book 9 (and I never read novellas or ".5" books). Spoilers....Book 9 could have been two books easily...some of it felt very rushed, like the authors just wanted to get it over with. The Clydinius story line just 'stopped', like that could have been the climax of Book 9 and the final battle Book ten. Book ten also could have flushed out the Lionel resolution a bit more...that seemed to complete itself rather quickly as well. The 'time jumps' were also weird to me and added to the feeling of the authors just wanting to end it.

Just for The Summer was meh for me too! I had the exact same thoughts, I was loving it at the beginning and then it was just insta love. And the main character bothered me so much! But the Q&A with the author at the end actually bumped it up a little for me.

Been reading since I was 14 and I’m now 30 and god do I feel I relate to your comment 😅 I ended sitting with myself for like a hour next to my dnf pile looking at them like “do I even like you lot anymore .. why do I do this to my purse and my heart” then a few weeks later the feeling comes back were I’m craving to read everything again 😂 it’s a mad phase that hasn’t changed all these years lol

I wanted to say that I do hope you get past this slump, and find books you love! However as a (newer) subscriber I feel this just shows authenticity and you’re sharing your reading experience. I don’t mind that at all personally. Just wish for yourself that the streak of bad books ends! Also, while I’m sorry you didn’t love Just For the Summer, your feelings completely validated mine. Not everyone has the same reading tastes, so just because someone enjoyed a book you didn’t doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you, it’s just your taste/mood. Everybody and their mother loved Daisy Jones and the Six, and I absolutely hated that book!! I’ve tried to re-read it to see if I just missed something, and I couldn’t do it. So what I’m saying is don’t get down on yourself, just move on to your next possibly favorite book!

Took the words out of my mouth ! This was how I felt with that series the cruel prince. I was looking for the romance that everybody was raving about but I left after reading the whole series questioning did I even read a book with any romance in it ? And I came away very bored and burned out .. I gave all of the books 2 stars which was VERY strange for me and has never happened before. Some books click and some don’t and that’s 100% ok ! It used to bother me when I was younger but all that bothers me now is if I bought it brand new I feel like I’ve wasted money 😅

Don't be so hard on yourself! I would never unfollow you because you were in a reading slump. I was in a slump for like a year and a half with the same problem - *nothing* was doing it for me. It was hard and frustrating so I get where you're coming from, but it will come back. I wanted to take a moment to *thank you* because you've gotten me back on the Dramione train after I took a tour on the Reylo train for a few years. I started reading Dramione as a tiny fangirl in 2002 after and when I started watching your channel and you mentioned you were a Dramione shipper...I knew I was here for the long haul lol. I'm two weeks out of finishing Manacled and I do not see recovery in my future, hahahwaaaa. See you in the next vlog and have the most wonderful summer break!

I was in one for 3 years and it was incredibly depressing .. I would cry to my husband because reading has been my whole life and I felt like I was going to lose it and it hurt. Then the start of 2023 it finally came back and I’ve been reading like a mad woman again 😅 think it’s just a phase but when you love something so much it’s a horrible feeling losing interest in it

Thanks for doing a Spoiler review. I was so pissed that Dior was dead. I felt like I was getting some hint at the end with Gabriel and Joaquin that she was not dead and then Selene made mention of saying she didn’t see Dior get buried. Like it was her clever way of saying Dior wasn’t buried without actually saying it. But I felt like I was missing something because I listened to the audiobook. I didn’t realize it was Dior’s eyes that opened. It’s also pretty obvious that Gabriel and Selene planned their “brawl” in the prison. And now she’s been relieved of her muzzle lol For the longest time I thought Selene had shape shifted into a moth. I didn’t realize the moth was essentially her familiar until her human form was with Gabriel and the moth was still with Dior lol

Murder Road was a 3star read for me. My fav by her is The Sun Down Motel. Awe, I love that Kara is gonna run with you!! I'm just glad I have ya as a running buddy from afar! & welcome to the apple watch club! love the new swimsuits! I bought a two piece last year...my husband encouraged me to. self confidence/esteem is hard!
