    This gathering is beautiful, there would be the elements to create a cinematic colossal, from the political crises, to the beginnings of the problems caused by Russia, to the ministers' signatures and finally to the setting in motion of the ships anchored in the ports. With one ship they made us "Battleship" with all these it would be a masterpiece ever made

    I’m still surprised the UK built 2 brand new carriers I could see 1 or even none with the UK these days I mean we have like 14 and they can’t equip 2 it’s sad how far down they have went and they said they only have like 30 operating tanks that’s sad then France they have no carriers it’s because they know they can always jump on the US back if needed all they have to do is fall in line and listen simple for flipping the bill and it wasn’t too long ago France came out to see that Europe needed to lead nato instead of the US but how you don’t have equipment or the nuclear weapons everything is basically borrowed from the US or has there name attached to it Poland is the only country building there army for a war if need be and it should be Germany, France, and the UK. A lot of these countries like Italy or Romania want a say in what’s going on well quit being a puppet who follows rebuild your army and it might happen it’s gonna be a sad day when war comes to Europe again and these countries start pulling out there T72 tanks if there lucky that are not battlefield operable

    It was meant to carry 24 and is capable of accommodating up to 36 F-35Bs. UK only has 31 in service. We can't even utilize both our air craft carriers to their full potential at once. Shameful.

  • @1chish
    @1chish8 ай бұрын

    Dear Lord why do you idiots write this crap? Actually its capable of carrying up to 60 aircraft not 36. Ask Jerry Kyd the first seagoing skipper. Nothing 'shameful' about just using the assets required for a NATO exercise. We aren't at bloody war ...

  • @cjjk9142
    @cjjk91428 ай бұрын

    We’ll never carry that many, we also have a bunch of helicopters that take up space. We have no intention of filling them to the brim like the USA as these are 5th generation fighters and outrageously expensive

  • @Benjd0

    Two aircraft carriers were built so that one is always available, not really to use both at once. That being said, there's more on order, they're still waiting on deliveries.

    2030 we’ll have tier 1 carriers (2) with top tier helicopters and 5th gen jets (78 of them), type 45 and 83 destroyers, type 28 frigs and one of the most advanced submarine groups ever We tried rebuilding in 2010 but failed, 2030 is second attempt. Just need more but considering each destroyer or submarine is £1-2 billion each I’d say that’s unlikely

    It's almost like the global political situation has changed since WW2. We lost our empire because those nations got fed up of us stealing their stuff and treating them as 2nd class citizens, so they sought independence. Without that empire, we can hardly expect to maintain the same level of defence output without the means to fund it.

    Obviously it’s a joke but I understand his worry…I do have a question…was there a reduction in order or is there an on-going delivery problem? I’ve heard both…it’s an amazing aircraft but definitely has significant production challenges…I think they just should have stuck with the B variant…and not bothered with the A and C because the B was so complicated…anyway…that was my question, if you know…a stop order from the RN or Parliament or a production problem here in the U.S.

  • @1chish
    @1chish8 ай бұрын

    @@marksmadhousemetaphysicalm2938 If I may respond to your concerns? The basic issue is slow delivery from Lockheed Martin in the USA where the UK aircraft are built. Sadly many here play politics and blame 'defence cuts' which is not true as the first 48 were funded years ago. Sadly others think its time for sarcastic mockery. To put it all into some context the first 3 test aircraft were ordered in 2009, the first being delivered in 2012 with the first 3 remaining in the USA for training and are now at Edwardes integrating weapons for all users. The next 45 were ordered (and funded) in 2012 (hence the '48 first order') but 10 years on we still only have 32 (with one crashed). The RAF have the funds for the next tranche of aircraft (probably 30) and contracts are being agreed. The UK's declared full life number is 138. It is particularly galling because BAE Systems and others in the UK make some 20% of every F-35 built (Tier One Partner) so we have been enabling deliveries to other countries while the politicians in the USA delay our (paid for) aircraft. Now this is just IMHO but I see a direct connection between Joe 'Irish' Biden and his hatred for the UK and the lack of deliveries. After all it is Biden's Pentagon that decides how many slots there will be in each LRIP, what type they will be and which customer gets how many aircraft. More context: Israel ordered 50 and by November 2022 had received 36. Australia will receive the last of its 72 ordered by the new year. Sorry to say this but this problem rests in the USA and not necessarily at Lockheed Martin.
