So nostalgic...my aunt (she has a little muscovy duck farm in her backyard) have these ducks and she lent me her male muscovy to have fun every summer break since grade school to the summer before college.

These are domesticated ducks that are being "outlawed" to keep as pets because some people feel they are native ducks. These ducks have been kept by farmers for generations my grandparents had these on their farm.

Very pleasant animals, quiet, smart, good with people. I've a 18+ female (spring 1999), found as a duckling, probably dropped by a predatory bird. So cheated death twice - saved from a predator and from the pot. Lives with a few chickens. Once bought a male duck for her as a companion

i live in South Florida and these ducks are everywhere. they're actually really chill animals, they hardly make any noise, you can get super close to them and they kinda just look at you with skepticism, they start wagging their tail when they get excited lol just like dogs

I raise Muscovy ducks. I've had several that were my personal pets and several crippled ones raised in the house. I love their different personalities, yes they are all different, I haven't seen two the same yet. I sell a lot as pets so if they're raised a certain way, they can be domestic. Males tend to go through a puberty like phase at about 3 months old and they can be very aggressive and will bite and fight with other males, but once they mature and get past that, they can be very sweet tempered...
