The whole buzzer gag is subtly funny. All game show buzzers are a HORRIBLE sound, and I reckon (real life) contestants often push them just to "get-in", even with wrong answers! Here, the joke is on real life contestants who mostly act like children to make the sound.

You know, and I think that I can speak for everyone including Floyd "Mr. Integrity" Robertson and Sammy "Mr. Entertainment" Maudlin, this Selfish Cowardly Drug Fueled Newscast by Earl "The Squirrel" Camembert is Despicable. I've been a loyal to SCTV News since the that day in 1968 when Floyd told us that the Vietnam War was Unwinnable. After this Outrageous Broadcast I can no longer put my trust in the SCTV News team. If Finished with SCTV and will never again tune into this channel. This is my Final Word on this matter !

RIP Joe Flaherty. I liked his character Guy Caballero best. I first seen SCTV 45 years ago, and the show was special back then and watched reruns since. I seen Joe Flaherty on Married With Children as Al Bundy's dentist and that was funny. I was thinking that Joe Flaherty could have been auditioned for Al Bundy, from would have fit that part. Of course Ed O'Neil played that part so well. I was watching that dentist episode recently and was sad to hear Joe Flaherty passed April 1, 2024.
