45:40 Marciano didn't retire early because he saw younger and better fighters coming up. He cleared out his division too quickly and ran out of top opposition to keep him fighting more often than just twice a year. Without a lot of opponents, he was getting ring rust and overtraining, so it just wasn't worth it to stay in. Plus, he trained away from his family for his championship fights. He'd sleep for 10 hours a night, do his roadwork in the morning, nap for 3 hours, do the rest of his training routine, and then nap another 3 hours for dinner. That's a lot to sacrifice, but he wouldn't do any less. No point in sticking around for a bum of the month club with that lifestyle.

I think that in order to get fast and strong you need to want to eat a lot in order to have the energy to do lots of training. A lot of early English boxers had low hands as do the newer English boxers from the Ingle gym, who also may have based themselves partly on Ali and partly on early English boxers.

Such a polite intelligent confident person....really brought up well by his family...never cussed... Awesome how clean cut and spiritual n intuitive he is.... Many years in advance... Predicting victories and rounds of knockouts etc... He really understood the boxing business...uncanny.. I liked him the best talking boxing... N .. Ali could eat you out of house n home... He loved his food lol!

Yes and it even sounds like him. As far as I can find, he was transferred from the Los Angeles County Jail to the United States Penitentiary at McNeil Island in 1961. I personally don't believe he was out of jail in 1962, let alone being able to access a telephone when in jail.

The Cleveland Williams prediction was chilling! This was 2 years even before he was shot. In 1962 Cleveland Williams was a monster power-puncher having beat Ernie Terrell, Alonzo Johnson amongst other top fighters. It's crazy to see how he can envision, predict and manifest it into reality. Like how Conor Mcgregor is doing now.
