I tend to say things like he did to the first girl, but really mean it and have no other. If she gives me a sign that she wants to be mine, I can't stop. I'm like lightning striking again.

I see different accounts of RTC and none were like mine in '76. We didn't do anything but take tests and stencil clothes and shine shoes and go to the dentist. We went to the TDE ship and polished the brass (and painted it for Don Rickles to film CPO Sharkey). We never handled any firearm nor learned anything like tying knots. We hit the water once for the swim test. We never played basketball or volleyball. We barely did PE at all. The day we had gas chamber I had a dental appt. Honestly it was 7 weeks of smoking cigs and shooting the breeze. Afterwards we went downtown to Sailortown strip joints at 8:00 a.m. and were bored so we got a Motel 8 and passed out and missed all of liberty. I never saw any of the guys again.

Fields had several memorable quotes. My favorite of his that is commonly quoted: "It's morally wrong to allow a sucker to keep his money." In one movie I think he expressed that sentiment best, with "I believe I have a moral obligation to separate suckers from their money."

Then when he asked a bartender "has Michael Finn been in today? and the bartender says "no, but we expect him shortly". If you know what a Mikey Finn is it's a big laugh!😁. I love.my uncle Bill!!😜
