Sell all public housing houses and use the money to build apartments 100 metres in the air like every other country

That's cause they don't have competition, the more rentals the bigger the competition is for landlords, honestly people with smaller families and are couples or singles should rent smaller places so the bigher familes can rent bigger places but I get it everyone want's space and room, there just isn't enough though.

I dont take advice from an out of touch surgeon, and I wont be spoken down to by her, or anyone like her. Neither should anyone else in this country or around the world have to put up with her verbal diarrhoea, especially not now. Conversely, the two ladies at the end made my day. They get it. Im sorry its been so difficult, Aussies deserve better.

An article in 2022 stated that the coalition sold $3bn of social housing with out meeting proper targets to rebuild . Housing has been talked about for years but without any progress. Now look at the mess. It is disgusting that Australia is in this position. I am currently in transitional housing ( temporary) with 2 young kids , one with special needs with no permanent solution in sight.

Plenty of properties, before covid. Then everyone moved from their lockdown states and have unfortunately taken up majority of all the rental markets. It's the sad truth. I honestly hope, that someone/something can assist this family. It's a massive bummer for them all- fingers crossed that something can be done.

You’re all virtue signalling. Just stop. If all of you commenters were landlords, I promise 99% wouldn’t lease their home to this family. Would you trust them with your investment? C’mon, she couldn’t even put a clean shirt on the baby for the camera, imagine how your house will end up looking! I’m just stating facts.

Don't worry Australia bought 368 billion dollars worth of nuclear submarines because of the perceived threat of China which will never happen. We all know that it's the Americans pushing us to fight their wars. If only we spent it on the people that need housing, we wouldn't have homeless families. Now we sending 100 million dollars to Ukraine to fight a war that's got nothing to do with us.

Such a sad and very scary situation, anyone who does not own their property could be in this situation at a moments notice. Australia is no longer the lucky country but instead it is now the greedy country with self serving individuals buying multiple homes to rent out as air bnb or investments putting basic housing out of reach for the average person. Shame on Australia.

These are the lucky few. If you don't hv own home or rented property or simply couldn't find one near where you work even you could afford to buy one (a mln$+ home) or rent one, I suggest council recreation park is the way to go. You find amenities like water, toilet (shower), swimming pool (recreation pk) and a BBQ place & power (if lucky). All you need is a car that can move around, do your grocery run, send kids to school, buy your portable gas bottle, dispose off daily rubbish...and best of all you live on a rent-free acreage, fresh air, no electric bill to pay, no council rate and yet in a natural setting away from public wilful eyes like in a holiday park. If you hv a dog to secure your surrounding...it's a plus. I believe we all are entitled for self sustainable living on a no man's land (not even first nation).
