8:51 “YEAH MR. WHITE…”
Amazing dude if my dad was still around he would be excited
Every time I listen to him play room 335, I always have a new feeling about the song. Amazing.
OH GOD..now he's bald? great...
9:55 This reminds me of some Talking Heads lyrics.
I am the big fan of 12 fret guitars ! I have 4 counting my old 00-18G Martin !!!
He's older now but looks younger somehow. I really like his look from the Blinded me with Science video.
This is a very important place for Matteo to be He is playing a Bacci guitar. Bacci only makes 150 of these guitars a year Thanks for the upload Mike

Better sound than G-335,maybe😋😃👏👏
He's still got it !!!
I just learned that Dolby made music like a director makes a film. He storyboards it. The only way to pull this off is to synch everything just like you would a shooting list, shot list, screenplay, dialogue, etc. Pretty amazing I think! Such ingenuity here, TD is the real deal!
Just acquired one of these on trade. Was in original box, with Sony dust cover. Looks new, but capstan won't actuate. Guess I'll be taking the cover off and getting busy.
Patience. Don't force things. Clean and manually move all mechanisms until they loosen up. You can do it.
@@mikesgigtv thanks. I need to get some other projects off my bench first.
Got my pair on order for the MM-100. Cool video
Any solution for the reels not moving
Could simply need a thorough clean and relube. When I got this deck it powered up but nothing moved except for the capstan. Take the front panel off and manually move and clean all mechanisms.
I own three 580s (and a 458). None of them have the pinch roller forward/reverse mechanism working and it seems not to affect playback in any way. As to sound quality I think only fair. When I made recordings with my Pioneer 909 and flipped the sound output between source and tape while recording, I could never hear any difference with the 909. However big difference with the 580s. Checking the frequency response with a NAK-T100 and vvarious tapes such as Quantegy 456 and Maxell UD-XL, the response is pretty poor. At least 10db down at 15khz and some large sags in 8-10khz ranges. Everyone should use that software to see how their deck is actually performing. For brake pad replacement, I used pieces of a vacuum cleaner replacement belt that I cut apart and glued to the brake mount. The rubber belt material grabs the reel tables great, they stop on a dime now.
Thank you for this video
Fantastic
Dolby is a musical genius!
One of our submarines on the same record is transcendent
I remember we used to think THIS WAS THE music of The Future with synthesizers and unusual sounds. Still sounds great. Im a Class of 84 grad. An MTV Hit .
Absolute Genius. Such an interesting vid to watch..Huge thanks for uploading this one..
One of the most creative songs (and videos) of the 80's, and that's saying something.
Fantastic! I loved his music. Especially Dissident
This saddens me. Great tunes reduced to a corporate karaoke clusterfuck. Love you, Mr. Thomas Dolby, but this isn't the way.
*Genus*
My perfect cousin <3
Would love a Soft-Moog!!! Anyone know of one?
Anyone else notice Mitch Gallagher from Sweetwater geeking out in the doorway in the background?
now with the new hair
8:50 Yeah Science! "Jesse Pinkman"
wonderful! It's 24 3/4 scale length for the mini ..
Can't wait to see Thomas Dolby on June 25!
He used to live 2 streets away from me in Fulham... Holyort Road, if I remember correctly . Only met him once when I took him to Heathrow in the mid 80's
Amazing !
They don't mention it, but it sounds like he allowed some of the local co-workers to record a "science"! for inclusion in the song's video, here. You can hear the co-workers laugh as they hear each collegue!
One of the world's best guitarist
Great video, very memorable or personality and song from 80s
Ovation has been brought and sold so many times since Kaman owned it.
5:09 HE DID IT! HE MADE THE NOISE!
Plugins were ruined for me the instant they were put into clouds and sign-in walls owned by the distributors. The most effective way to kill inspiration is being unable to re-open a project because you’ve forgotten the password to Roland Cloud/Arturia whatever, because you haven’t used in a week or two and the license wants to confirm itself.
Does anyone knows why is etienne wearing gloves? I noticed he wears them every time he plays.
It's sad to see him playing like that..I guess he needs to retire before his health get worse.
He's still better than 90% of us! If that's all the better I could play I'd be ecstatic.
Brilliant enjoyed this
Genius!
coool video . i use krk rokit7 G4 ...and sonarworks too, i found we have same Room EQ respond graph . 100hz below big dip .....is that SBIR cancle the low end below 100? i use alot bass trap seem dosent work . i heard that if Sonarwork boost the low end below 100hz like 50-90 to make it flat .... but SBIR (room mode ) still cancle that boost ....so im litlle confussed about that .. but resualt is that i hear more bass and drum after sonarworks ,, and graph become flat. but i still cant trust is that really flat enough for mixing .
Hi, thanks for watching. Yeah, I hear you. How can we be sure. I have since moved to a different room. I posted a video of my DIY sound absorbers. Check out these videos: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oad9zLGrmNDde6w.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/h35oxdKEYayvpso.html I have accepted that acoustical perfection is not feasible unless a room is built from the ground up, so to speak. But, we can do things to get a more pleasing sound with monitor placement, seating placement and some room treatment, and tools like Sonarworks. I rely more on my headphones - Sennheiser HD 490 and Audeze MM100 - than monitors. Oh, and here's another issue. The first time I used Sonar in a different house, my previous mixes sounded too bright. Found that the tweeter circuit in my monitors had degraded with age and I was pumping up the highs too much. So use all the tools - monitors, room treatment, headphones and check freqs of your recording with a plugins like Nugen Visualizer, and DearReality. Best, Mike
Hey Kelly it’s Marty. Jeff Basnett brother.
Thank goodness someone had the nous to organize and record this ,Thomas looks and sounds amazing,,atrue pioneer of synth music and light years ahead of his time, genius many many thanx for this❤❤❤❤❤❤
