  Interesting to make note of the NOTE 🙂 " NOTE: There is a misconception among Indo - Pak Sub Continent music industry that who is the original singer of this song. Definitely without any doubt HABIB WALI MUHAMMAD. Farida Khaman and other well known artists followed this song after Habib Shahab, since it was a very popular and well composed film song. This is a classic song of Janab HABIB WALI MUHAMMAD's original super hit song from film "BADAL AUR BIJLI" released in early 1975 in Pakistan, filmed on actor Nadeem and Shabnam, composed by Sohail Rana, poet Fayyaz Hashmi. Other renowned singers of the Indo-Pak sub continent such as Asha Bhosle, Firada Khanam, Anup Jalota, Talat Aziz, AR Rehman, Dr. Radhika Chopra and many many more music Pundits & Ustads rendered this song in their own style.   Farida khanam dish9nestky supressed his jame.. 8 was 7nder impression that it is forst composed and sung by farida.. she not 9nly copied enyire composition but also tune and copied in the same way., with little difference

  My Mom and dad used to listen this ghazal and other superb classical songs by him. Habib Wali Mohammad Sahib was a hugely successful industrialist belonging to a well known business community from Indian state of Gujrat who migrated to Pakistan. Had a few textile mills too. Although he was NOT a regular professional singer but sang for his own passion and interest. He is zillion times ahead of most of the professional singers of this era despite not being aided by modern sound affects and instruments. A singer to remember for ages.😊
