I got off of birth control about two years ago. Turns out I didn't really know myself. During that time of my month I was just an emotionless zombie I didn't really find anyone physically attractive I was very much unaware of what my body was trying to tell me because I suppressed it with those pills. Now since being off of them I can now say I am at peace. I am able to feel things normally I can now describe what makes me attracted to someone and I no longer have confusion about what's happening in my body. Best decision I ever made. I'm twenty seven now I was put on them at 13. I can't say it's right for everyone but it was absolutely right for me and I've never regretted it a second. My mother tried to scare me about what would happen and I'm so glad I didn't listen to her.

I stopped taking birth control in June or July of 2013 or 2014, it made me feel emotionally unhinged before my period and it was mentally exhausting. Now 10ish years later I'm so happy I did, I can say it's one of the best decisions I made for my body.

Yeah I’m 27 and I stopped it made me so sick but the doctor told me it was normal so I just went with it, it was mainly for my cycle but on birth control my cycle lasted ten days and I was exhausted.

I got off birth control in November 2022 after being on it for 4 years, I also have PCOS and it has been the worst experience for myself. I Gained 20+ pounds, my facial hair is out of control, I have never had acne and I have hormonal neck acne and I have not been having my period. 🙃

Wow reading the reasons you went off birth control you - the girls listening to medical advice from tiktok- are 100% being brainwashed by right wing media who very much wants you off birth control so you can be pregnant and poor. Unplanned procreation has majorly negative impacts on women including literal death. There are non hormonal forms of birth control, please take them if you are sexually active. Let’s not be poor single mothers like conservatives want us to be.

How late am I to this!!! First of all I want to say I appreciate you sharing this incredibly difficult and emotional moment of your life. My situation wasn’t the same, (because I didn’t have to grief anyone) but I went through a 3-4 year heartache because my girlfriend proposed and I told her we had to think about it for a bit, because even though I was so in love with her, we were both too young (at least I thought so. Me 24 and she was 20). She ended up going to college and we kept a long distance relationship because we said we would sort everything out as it was only a matter of time, not lack of love that kept us from marrying each other. Needless to say, we ended breaking up (she let me go) and I couldn’t believe it. She stayed to live in her new town and married there and it took me close to 4 years to get over her! I’m now married myself to who I know is the love of my life and have two loves of my life now, my wife and my 5 year old daughter ❤. Things seem to go down a dark path for so long, but Gods plans are indeed perfect! I feel for him a bit, because he may have still been in love with you for some time or maybe even still is; but, what you did has given you both the opportunity for true happiness! I just turned 35 and have been off BC for 10+ years, it was one of the best decisions I made. I didn't like the way BC made me feel; I often felt erratic, moody and irritable when it was nearly that time but since being off everything has regulated. It took perhaps a month or two but I've felt normal, everything is regulated and just overall more in tune with my body since.
