What a time.to be in , the 80s was just eclectic , that's all I can say, no fakeness. It was all just too real. It was a time of no bullshit , people got along. The 80ies is not about the lack of technology, it's about the freedom we had away from artificial social life. Real experiences, not lived through the eyes of someone else. More personal freedom: normally, mistakes would have made the round, but would not have been engraved forever in the internet memory. And some of the people here talking about them preferring the times now because "more technology and money" wtf is wrong with you? Unless you had been really super poor, no one felt any lack of money or technology, we had real friends and real fun together. No one needed a mobile phone, was even better, parents were not able to locate us that quickly as nowadays.
