From a learner's perspective, I want to know why some varieties are priced much higher than others despite being quite similar. Especially the second one (2.38ct - 8.63 x 7.76 x 4.59) and fifth one (2.37ct - 8.58 x 7.25 x 4.96) seem quite similar but the former is priced at 500/ct whilst the latter is 200/ct.
Gorgeous i would be interest in a candy apple red afghan if possible...could you set it as well in a ring? Hit me up I can only afford Sterling though.your cutting is beautiful.

In your highly specialized and tuned opinion, which one of your Garnets represents the most cost vs (Enduring) value potential? Also... what is the make and model of the grooved tweezer used in this video ( i assume it is the one you use most often?)

If the facets were larger on the pavilion side towards the culet......... Would the windows of doom be less likely of an issue? There is a cut I saw on another channel that they called the August Vintage cushion cut. I thought it was beautiful in their examples using diamonds. But it might be phenomenal for colored gems like spinel, and garnets. Especially Demantoid.

When you say that the sphene are more collector's items, is that because it is not very "durable"?

It's lesser known by the general market, and it can be a bit softer than the traditionally well known stones. That dispersion though is something else ~ if someone wanted to make a line of earrings or pendants (why not both?!) then it could definitely grow in popular consumption.

Hi Lelloche~ I'm glad you have benefitted from my work. On captions/ subtitles - if im not mistaken, youtube has auto generated subtitles available? There should be a "gear" in the bottom right of the video that has some system options like playback quality and CC etc. There will be some words I use that their system cannot recognize, but it should help until I can go through and make my own. Its amazing how much time it takes to do captions for words that we ourselves speak XD Sorry for the inconvenience and I hope that I can get to the captions sooner than later.

I really appreciate these videos with stones and prices. It really helps to have a idea of what these sell for. I dislike having to ask “how much” because at that point I know I can’t afford it but want to know for the future. Plus it fills the gap of not being in Tucson this year. Opals got me into gems. While not actually a gemstone, they are a microcrystaline silicate similar to chalcedony,agate and flint ( from what i have learned ,which could very well be wrong) . The play of color ( situated in color bars in most cases ,boulder opal being created the same way as precious opal but in a large rock so the layers are different in orientation,being many small layers instead of almost sheets of color ) are linear plains of opal that contain fluid and specifically shaped and oriented molecular structures allowing the layers to each reflect one color depending on orientation of the microscopic spheroidal or cylindrical shaped crystalline structures . I'd love to be corrected where i am wrong ,if i am wrong. And no i have not forgotten my obligation . I promise life just really tries to make me look very unfavorable,when I need things to go right and in a timely manner . I will overcome it and continue to do what i was doing when life got the jump on me...i do think the extra struggle has to be for a reason though. Anywho. Be well Peter, I will be in touch . It is a delay ,but i have made commitments and they are a personal responsibility to follow through. I do desire them still also. I want stuff i haven't mentioned yet . Sphene, deeper blue green peridot, a small alexandrite for my mom, i can't afford a big one for many years (its moms birth stone and favorite stone. Her name is Rose so naturally a rose cut came to mind.) As well as some other stones. Lastly, because its super helpfull for the reviewing of stones... I finally got a newer phone too and got to look at my emails again with a not broken screen. ( also notice how few typos i now have. They exist ,but its not nearly so bad now that i have a working touch screen, lol) Be well Peter.

I would suggest if you clip your nails before showing any Gem in your hands that will look nice.

I keep my nails short enough for my violin and as clean as I am able. Perhaps someone will be able to teach me how to improve my manicure skills, but for now this is what I am able to do. Thank you for the comment.

I had no idea peridot could be colored with such a wide array of colors. I thought it was 3 colors and slight differences in hue. Yellow , green yellow and vivid lime green. These are so beautiful. The blue hued and forest green peridot excites me! And I am loving the pale stones . Which is not normally my thing
